ANOTHER NEW " SISTER "

What a wonderful time I had meeting fellow blogger,
Wanda of "Brushstrokes From the Heart."
I have truly found another sister.
I went from being an only child to having Beverly of "Lacoochee Kid "as my heart sister,
and now Wanda.
While we (our husbands too) were chatting
we discovered a rather remarkable thing.
We were married by the same minister !!!!
Pastor Roberts married them in Modesto almost 50 years ago
and then he moved to pastor a church in San Bruno, California
and married us January 1964.
SMALL WORLD!!!!

Wanda and her Hubby were staying in a delightful little cottage down this dirt road.
It felt like a fairyland.
The best thing was it was right on the edge of Lake Tahoe.
What a view from the livingroom window.
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of that.
I was just too busy talking.

Several blogposts ago I posted a picture of the bear fishing for Salmon in Taylor Creek.
There was just a small amount of water in the Creek
and the bear was gourging on fish.
This is the same Creek and spot where I took that picture.
The first heavy snow fall of the season in the Sierras produced a massive runoff.
No fishladder anymore.
The bear have had to move elsewhere for the time being.

The rain from that same storm has knocked many leaves from the Aspen trees
before they had a chance to show their Fall finery.
I think the Lake Tahoe area is just beautiful anyway.
What a wonderful time we had on our mini vacation.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " O "

My Hubby and I are OFF to Lake Tahoe.
I know this is not OFFICIALLY ABC Wednesday but we won't be home in time to post this letter.
We'll ONLY be gone for a few days.
I am so excited to have an OPPORTUNITY to meet a fellow blogger up in the beautiful mountains.
We are going to meet Wanda of " Brushstrokes of the Heart."
In my OPINION, even though we have never met, its going to be a wonderful time.
It feels like a very special OCCASION. I know we will have OODLES to talk and laugh about.
Now if I can get myself ORGANIZED and get OUR OUTFITS packed,
we can finally get OURSELVES OUT the door!

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " N "

Today's letter is " N ".
The first photo is in honor of NEWBORN puppies.
Our "Granddogger" NAMED Snickerdoodle gave birth
to NINE NIMBLE little Labradoodles three days ago.
Everything is NORMAL and our Granddaughters will be
able to visit the breeder's home
NUMEROUS times while the puppies are still NURSING.
When the puppies are old enough they will be sold and Snicker will finally come back home .

I call this photo "NATURE'S carpet".
The yellow aspen leaves are so NUMEROUS they seem like a carpet blanketing the ground.
It was pure NIRVANA to see.
Be sure to ENLARGE all of the pictures to see the detail.

The NOBLE fir and pine trees frame the water as it
NAVIGATES the NOOKS and crannys of the NATURAL spillway.
Lava and glacial activity created this scenery constantly both NIGHT and day.
NOTE the depth of the waterfall when its enlarged.

Technically NOT the greatest picture but it certainly has alot of " N " words.
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO,
NINE
times!!!
NOW use your NATTY NOODLE and see what's NEW on our fellow bloggers sites for the letter N.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " M "

MEET the MAGNIFICIENT MAMA bear MUNCHING on her hibernation-bound MEAL.
While we watched she ate at least 15 MIGRATING salmon
in MID-STREAM.
Her cub would come down to the river, catch a fish,
MANEUVER the fish in his jaws
so he could MAKE a MAD DASH back into the woods with it.
MAMA didn't seem to MIND being watched.
The MAJOR thing on her MIND was bulking up for the winter.
The spawning salmon were a MOST wonderful virtual buffet for the bears.
We were within 20 feet of her.
It was a totally amazing thing to see.

Here's another way of catching fish for the winter hibernation.
Of course this is only MAKE BELIEVE.
We saw these MAD CAP bears at the Sorenson Resort in Hope Valley, California.
The bears MADE us smile.
MACKEREL or Salmon??
I wonder what they will catch!

Wood's Lake was so MAGICAL .
The island was like a MIRAGE appearing in the MIDDLE of the Lake.
The fog and mist kept MOVING in and out so MYSTICALLY.
When the fog lifted there was snow dusting the MOUNTAIN peaks right in front of us.

At Lilly Lake we saw some awesome rocky MOUNTAINS.
Can you see the MIGHTY tree growing right out of the side of the rock?
Its a MYSTERY how it could MAINTAIN its hold and grow to such a MARVELOUS size.
Please Enlarge this picture as well as the others to see the detail.
When you are finished, MEANDER over to MRS. Nesbitts link on MY sidebar
to see what others have MANAGED to post for the letter " M ".

CHASING THE COLOR

Fog, rain, some residual snow and Fall color.
That's what we saw yesterday in the Sierras near Lake Tahoe.
It was a magical day with the sun finally peaking its nose out from behind the clouds.
Another week to ten days and there will be color everywhere.
Be sure to enlarge this photo to see all the detail and textures.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " L "

LET'S try this again. I am practically LIVID.
After working at LEAST an hour to do this post, it would not go through.
Of course LUCKY me...I hadn't saved it!!
So I will LAY my annoyances aside and try to remember what I wrote in the first place.
LOOK at these LUCIOUS LIP-SMACKING LOLLIPOPS.
I wonder how many LICKS it would take to finish the LARGE LOLLIPOP?

Here is the OakLAND - San Francisco Bay Bridge. It is the LINK between the East and West Bay Areas.
Work has been going on for building a new span
since a section went down
during the 1989 LOMA Prieta earthquake.
The workers aren't LAZY or LAGGARDS.
They have LEARNED to just move on inspite of politics and the economy.
There isn't too much LEFT for the new span to be completed.
There will be LOTS of celebration when its finished.

The LIFE-LIKE colors and images of the LEGENDARY LOGOS were wonderful to see.
The LABELS went the entire LENGTH of the warehouse wall.

LET'S LOOK LONGINGLY at the LOVELY dewdrop and LUCIOUS LOOKING rose.
To me it says,
LIFE is good.
