Monday Meanderings ...
Well here we are again, at the beginning of a new week.
Its officially Fall but our thermometer says not quite yet !!!
Today's prognostication ... 98F ... I'm so thankful our AC just keeps chugging along.
I finally finished pruning our fruit trees and this morning am loading the debris into the green waste for pick up. The yard looks so much better and I feel a bit more ready for the warnings of a sever El Nino rainfall this winter. Need to get more weeding done and pumps set up for the flooding that will come. I would rather get that kind of thing done while I have energy and son will be available to help Dave and I.
Here's our Agapantha is going to seed. This is the first year in a very long time that we have had flowers. I think its pretty in its "Fall state" too.
I saw this recipe on FaceBook the other day and thought it looks so easy and tasty too. I am anxious to give it a try very soon.
That about wraps it up for today My Friends ...

The lemon cake looks good. The agapantha looks like a ghost plant! Very suitable for October.
Some flowers look very cool in their Fall state.
That cake looks good!
Isn't that Agapantha blossom interesting, and so pretty. That's good that you are getting prepared for any fierce rains that we may get this winter. The heat and air guy just mentioned the El Nina rainfall to me today. The lemon cream cheese cake looks really good. Be sure to show us if you make it soon.
**I was so happy to hear about your travels to Mount Lassen when you were growing up and your camping adventure with your parents. I've never been there, and it's only about 35 minutes from my house. But I drove through the area and saw the mountain in the distance. And I also wanted to say Happy Birthday to your son. Those October babies are the best!
Your Agapantha reminds me, beauty exists everywhere ... even in death.
I want to make that dump cake to bring to my DIL's house next month. That way the 'burden' of eating it all doesn't fall on Tom and me. Ha!
I think I need to look up the Agapantha to see what it looked like BEFORE it died and became a skeleton of its true self...still very interesting and uniquely beautiful in it's own way. That lemon cheesecake sounds delicious and easy enough for even me to make. We have been finally getting some good rains today, but still not enough to fill the pond. At least it's progress. I am happy that you've gotten some much needed yard work done! Even in that kind of heat! I'm surprised and amazed. Maybe it's not as humid there as it is here. 98 degrees here is just too much for me to function in. I hope you don't get too much rain or flooding. I didn't realize you were in a flood prone area. I just think of it as being dry there. There's so much I don't know about California. But I know some wonderful people there, and that makes it pretty special! Take care and don't overdo it in that heat!!!
The cake sounds good! Fall prep/yard work has been going on around here, too.
Lemon cake...I like lemon cakes, but I'm the only one in the family that does...😢 We finally are having some temps that are very pleasurable. The rest of our week is suppose to be in the mid 80's.. I welcome this compared to the 101 degrees that we had for over 30 days. Come Fall, there is still a lot of yard work to be done...sounds like you are making a good headway with yours. Your Agapantha photo is neat looking...very unusual look.. Wishing you and Dave a good week... Warm hugs to you both..
I LOOOOVE lemon bakes. You gave me an idea Thank you!
Glad you got your yard cleaned. And that lemon dump cake looks good!!
That cake does look good. I like those dump cake recipes.
Glad you have your son to help with some of the work. It's feeling more fall like here. This morning we're only at 35
That cake looks delicious!
Yes, we are still very warm here. Way to go on the pruning. That dump cake sounds delicious.
Just checking in…take care!
I'm so thankful the weather is cooling down...It'll be 85 here today....60's at night...nice!
hugs
Donna
Yard work is always a chore and good when it's done, so hope you do not work too hard, Sue. The lemon cake recipe sounds so good that I wish I had the ingredients on hand to make one right now!
your life is very similar to ours, I am fighting weeds and grass mowing needs and life is doing the same old same old.. the flower is beautiful. I have never heard of this one, our temps have been mid 90's but today we woke up to 72 and less humid and 88 is the high, this I can live with... of course I live with the heat by staying inside and hoping a long with you that the cool air keeps on pumping
