LIFE IS ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE

 Good Morning ...

Some Adventures are good, some no So ...

Todays is maybe what you would call in between.

We have come to the end of our time with the Home Healthcare-givers.

Its been 7 weeks of twice weekly visits from the Physical Therapist and the Home Health RN.

I am forever grateful for these two wonderful men that became friends in our lives.

Both Dave and I are truly sad that we won't see them again.

It also means that we are on our own to fully regain strength and complete mobility.

Things will never be perfect, but I thank the Lord for everything that Dave can now do.  At almost 85 (in 6 months), it will never be as it was years ago, but then again, it's not the way it was 7 weeks ago either!

This is Jethro, the Home Health RN.

What a kind, gentle and really pleasant man.  He was so professional but could joke and tease too.

Jethro always gave us hugs before he left.
I'm going to miss those genuine hugs.

This is Nick our PT.

What a great guy!

His "Bedside" manner really got Dave up and "running".

We had a lot of wonderful chats and I was so glad to be included in everything.

We still have 1 more visit from the Occupational Therapist.

She's ok but not on our "friends list", a bit scattered but the exercises she did are good for both of us.

The major accomplishment from her is loosening Dave's neck muscles.  It is helping the entire body's core.

Dave's fall produced NO broken bones but the deep bruising internally is more difficult to "fix".  A lot of it just takes time and persistence.

All this to say that we thank you our blogging friends for your care and concern and storming heaven for us.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

Glad that he had no broken bones and happy that you had the time with the heatlh care when you did. Here's to a healing journey ahead.

It can be a tad bit scary at the thought of not having those that you have trusted so much, to not be coming around. It's wonderful that Dave had no broken bones, but like you said, those internal injuries are worrisome and can be much worse. Prayers for you both Sue as Dave continues this healing journey. Take care of him and take care of you too!! Love you both..

It's so good that you received some wonderful help from these young people. I'm glad your husband is healing, slowly but surely. They look like clean professionals, and I like that they are wearing gloves when taking care of your husband. I am whispering a prayer for continued healing, and strength for both of you.

Gosh, it's hard to believe (for me, anyway) how 7 weeks have flown. From personal experience, I can attest (that) these home health caregivers are pretty wonderful. Not only are they skilled, but personable and compassionate. (Not to mention, easy on the eyes. LOL!)

I know I was very uncertain when my nurse and therapists left. But they prepare you well. Funny, we didn't like our O.T. therapist near as much as the others. I know he will do just fine, and the worst is behind him now.

That is great that you were able to get home healthcare. I didn't realize that OTs can also work on your muscles. Sounds like you had a great team and now you and Dave are well prepared to encourage each other to continue on with what you have learned to do.

This is from Sandie/chatty Crone. I’m glad that you guys had so much therapy and the people were pretty good. It’s hard when you get comfortable and things are going good to lose them.

Sorry to hear about Dave's fall and injuries. So glad you were able to get help from allied health workers. I hope Dave continues to improve and he'll be running around the block soon.
