I have been putting in some time the last few days weeding a patch in the backyard.
I can't kneel or squat so its always bending over at the waist. Standing on my head is my method of action.. 👀😅😛😜
The weeds in the patch that I haven't gotten to yet have grown 2 more inches since yesterday... groan... I must finish today because its going to rain tomorrow, or so the weather people say... The weeds will be 9 feet tall before I can get out there again!
This little guy posed so nicely for me before he met his demise.
On another note...
My son Steve just got back from Las Vegas. He and his business partner produce photography workshops.
They had an awesome group of photographers that were learning new techniques at the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.
One of the guests took a terrific photo of our son and I thought I would share it with you.
I think he's pretty handsome and he loves what he does for a living.
Proud Mama here...
And now for my second cup of coffee before I face the weeds again..

Hey!!! have you been over here in Texas digging up my flowers? I have several of those cute little dandelions in my yard. LOL. You sure have a handsome son and what an awesome job he has. I know he loves every bit of his days on the job. don't overdo trying to get those weeds pulled..we are expecting rain as well. Happy Wednesday...
What a neat occupation your handsome son has! Talent and good looks are surely inherited ! I laughed (with you, not at you) about standing on your head to accomplish certain tasks. I wouldn't dare kneel down on the ground as I wouldn't be able to get up until some kind (and strong) person happened to come along. We don't garden any longer (and that happened before my knees went bad), but nowadays I can't clean my refrigerator or the cupboard under the sink without making sure somebody is standing by to help (or better yet ....)
Your son is very handsome, and I can see why you are so proud of him.
I feel for you for the weeds - but it I bent forward my acid reflux would burn my stomach out. I am glad you can bend that way! Good luck!
This is a wonderful photo of Steve, and you are very blessed to have him. I love the dandelion photo, looks so pretty like you edited it somehow. Be careful of your back!
What a handsome son! Great picture!! However, I tend to be protective of the dandelions. I would rather have a yard full of dandelions than grass! Call me crazy, but they are edible and beautiful and the bees love them! However, I do understand about needed to pull weeds. I can't do it for very long either, and no one else will do it for me, so if they can't be mowed down, they will probably just have to grow. We really don't have real dandelions here in Florida...very few. But we have plenty of other "God's Wildflowers" that probably need to be pulled...ho hum, I need another nap now.
the student did an amazing job. wow! Steve us handsome and this is really super great photo of him. I to have some of those flowers and a hundred of is cousins. haha.. bob mowed them flat day before yesterday and nearly expired from the dust in the air... our drought is now considered dangerous, we are under fire warnings and our yard is nothing but black sand and weeds. we are letting the weeds grow in the grass in the front because if we cut them, it will make he grass die faster..
Yes, a nice photo, he really looks like his dad doesn't he? Beautiful yellow dandelion, did you know that the French word for dandelion is "pissenlit", which translates to "wet the bed", and I was told as a child not to pick dandelions because ... well.... you know........ so be careful when you are weeding.
That's a great photo of your handsome son! I bet that workshop is so interesting.
No dandelions here yet. I like them best when they go to seed and have a fluffy head.
Loving what you do is such a blessing. Lucky man!
He is definitely a handsome guy, wow. About the weeds. I get it . We don't have that much weeds but with incense cedar trees surrounding the property basically on all sides (we live on a curve in the road) the amount of nut wingy things and pine needles will literally fill up 10 bags and that isn't counting the branches that have come down, the other type of tree stuff. I'm not exaggerating - we put out a total of 60 bags last year for the trash pick up. Our trash company made new rules and we could only put on 15 at a time each week. And I know we aren't the only house on the mountains that had this much.
Wow, Thats a great picture of Steve. Shows just how handsome he is. He got the best of you and Dave. So glad the workshops in Vegas went well. Oh Sue, my back hurts for you and your weeds!! If your large back yard was not so beautiful, I would pour cement so you wouldn't have to pull weeds. You could have plants in large pots. In the meantime...try to take it easy, and don't stay out there too long.
I agree, Steve's pretty darn handsome. That's frame-worthy!
I've promised myself to tackle our weeds (again) tomorrow. Pamela (at Closed Doors Open Windows) actually pointed me in the direction of my little weed whacker. So lightweight, I think Tom considered it a "Barbie" tool, but turns out he's impressed. Maybe lobbing them off at the surface isn't as effective; I don't know, but always opt for 'easier.'
What great photos, the son and the dandelion! That is cool job. How did he end up doing that?
You have a very handsome son and that is a fabulous photo of him.
I can squat down to pull weeds but it's a bit painful and I can't stay that way for long.
Way to go on pulling weeds. That photo of your handsome son is awesome!
I love the POP of yellow.
Great picture of your son. He is very handsome.
When you are out there weeding, do you dig up all the beautiful wildflowers as well?
