THANKFUL THURSDAY

The weeks seem to be flying by.  How did it get to be the middle of August already?

Our temperatures are slowly going down and I am so grateful.

Yesterday Dave and I went to a delightful get together.  The group was some of our friends from our Faith-based Photography Club that meets via Zoom.

5 of the women pictured here went on a mission trip to Costa Rica last year.  Pastor Ben , his wife Taja and their 2 kids were in the States for some fund raising and came to visit us.  Ben is doing an amazing work to help with those in deep poverty.  He has started many projects (and completed many also) to give employment and teach the people new skills.  Its been so successful.  His wife has an entire ministry for the unwed and those struggling with a crisis pregnancy.  Another very successful ministry that helps and shares the Gospel with them.

The get together was just what Dave and I needed.  Friends, good food and a time to think about those less fortunate than us.  I know this team is itching to get back to Costa Rica , photograph the people and share in ministry.  Wish we could go too.  I really believe our days of doing things like that are over, but we can still pray and support the work.

Pastor Ben is in the red shirt with his lovely wife to the right of him.

Always be Thankful

Always be Kind

God bless these folks for what they do! Wonderful photo. Ministering to the poor in spirit is very rewarding. I pray that as they share God's word that it does not come back void. To God be the glory. The trip we made into a border town in Mexico many years ago was a real eye opener for me and Steve. Talk about poor! Those people are grindingly poor. Many had resorted to living on the streets selling their bodies (and soul) for food. Every time one of these rich, spoiled snowflakes complain about America and how they are "oppressed", I want to take them down there for a few hours. I'll show ya oppressed! Those living in such dire straits are people with no hope either in spirit or funds. They need Jesus plus help with transportation, food, fresh water, clothes, and medicine.
Sharing the love of Jesus is so important and that includes in our own Country of lost souls. Amen?!
Sorry, got wordy. *lol*
Blessings.💙

What a wonderful ministry, and also wonderful that you can be a part of it in a supportive way. That is just as important as being there. Prayer support is crucial, as is financial. Thank you and the group for all they /you do for the Glory of God and the furtherance of His kingdom here on earth. What a blessing!!

Just look at everyone's smiles! Yep, good food and good friends are such a blessing.
While you may not be able to join your friends physically, I know you'll hold them in prayer. And doesn't everyone need a cheerleader in their life?! Hugs!

You look so happy. Not everyone can do everything at the same time. Praying for them is awesome.

It was good to read that you were able to share time with this group and that certainly helped lift your spirits from what you wrote in this post, Sue.
