The other day Dave and I took a short walk to the end of our block.
Across the street used to be an handmade box that people could peruse the books in the FREE Library. It was always packed to the gills with every type of book.
Now there is a new addition. One box for adult books and one for kids books.
I really love this much loved and used Library.
We have contributed many books and even took a few to be given again after we were through.
Its such a friendly neighborhood.
I thought you might enjoy seeing them.
Are there any of these around where you live?
If you look off to the right side of the adult library you may notice a mourning dove peeking out. Right next to the library they have a cage with a cooling system for doves to live in. Don't know much more than that about the cage.

What a great idea. Get off the computer and phone and READ a real book that you can turn pages. I love this. I love to read. I'm encouraging Tristan to read books, and learn memory verses. Dr. John MacArthur has written a book called The War on Chidren, and what our society is doing to distroy them. A must read. We live in scary times, but God is using it all for His purposes and His glory.
Jill and Tristan will be here in a couple of weeks....can't wait. Amanda's wedding Aug. 10th.
I love these. We have one in our small town. Nice to see the one for children, too!
I love how colorful the new Kid's Library is, there's no mistaking what it is for. We have a Universalist church about two blocks away, and they have one of these little outdoor libraries. But I don't know if it is only for church members. Just a few minutes ago in the dusk, we saw a couple park and go up to it. Had to wonder if they were up to no good!
I don't know of one near here, but I sure would have loved one when a kid, even if I had had to walk a mile to go to it.
Many little libraries have popped up around here in recent years. It is a wonderful way to share our own collections (not that I've done that yet...) and a fabulous way to add new titles. The kids especially love to pick a book to bring home.
I think that is awesome you have that - I would love to have one here - just have to get someone to build it.
How kind and thoughtful to share books. I'm an avid reader too. It's much more fun than dallying on the 'puter all day. Right now I'm reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It's a classic that I've not read before. Our area has many of those designated areas but give away non-perishable foods to the needy. It's comforting to know there are so many kindhearted people still in the world.

That is so wonderful.
I love the photos. We have a few little lending libraries up here. When I walk the shoreline at Lake Arrowhead there is one little library where I finally got "The Prophet" by Kahil Gibran. I had heard of it many times but never saw the book until one day walking by and there it was.
There are a few here in the neighborhood but haven't borrowed any yet.
