THE LAST OF THE PARTIES THIS YEAR

Saturday afternoon we went to our annual Norwegian Christmas party at our kids home.

There were only 26 there this time.  We missed so many.  Tante Gunhild went to her heavenly home on Thanksgiving morning.  That was a huge hole in our celebration.  Surgery, other engagements and the distance too far kept some home.

BUT...

We did have a grand time, different but fun just the same.

Delicious ham, deep fried turkey, scalloped potatoes, salad and jello salad, lots of appetizers and of course desserts galore!

Of course, par for the course, nary a photo taken of the feast.

We always have a white elephant gift exchange... all nice things...

I got this terrific blanket.  Its huge, so soft and full of Gnomes..I lucked out for sure.

I did take one photo of the youngest child at the party.

This is Paisley and she is two.

Her aunt just had a baby girl 3 weeks ago so Paisley carried around her "baby" Leila.  She took such good care of her too.

I love her little pouty face and those Bell Bottoms are just too cute.

Lots of fun...

Last but certainly not least...

This came in the mail.  I am so thrilled that I won the Santa painting done by Linda Chapman.

Can anything be more special???

Nope!

Isn't it wonderful?  I will cherish it forever.

Happy Monday to all of you.

Paisley is just absolutely the most precious little girl I've seen in a long time! The baby doll and those absolutely adorable pants she's got on where the first thing I noticed. Also noticed that precious pouty face she's a real Beauty. Sorry that some were missing but so glad that you all got together.

What is different about a Norwegian Christmas party verse a regular one? Just interested.

Congrats to you, Sue, on being one of the winners for Linda's Santa paintings, it's beautiful. We received a smaller one in the form of her Christmas card and it is also a treasure. You did get a lovely blanket in the white elephant exchange. Here in New england we have a similar exchange known as a "Yankee Swap."
