ANNIVERSARY, BIRTHDAYS, AND REUNION ALL ROLLED INTO ONE

We had such a great time this past Saturday.

It was our nephew Mike and his wife Laurie's 40th anniversary and their 60th birthdays.

Their kids decided to give them a party to celebrate and finally get everyone together.

Mike comes from a large family. There are 6 siblings.  Each is married and has a boat load of kids too.

Mike and Laurie have 6 kids too.. 4 married with kiddos and 2 on the waiting list.

All that to say..when family gets together there are people all over the place.

I believe there were over 70 at this BBQ get together.

I'm so grateful that our son Steve and his wife drove us the 2 hours to the mountains where they live.

I only took a few photos but I believe eventually we will get a group photo which I will post.

Mike is a county sheriff.

All of Mike's sisters are fantastic cooks, do catering and one sister just retired from teaching Jr. High kids home economics.
Wendy made all the desserts, wedding cake and 2 types of cobbler and cookies.
The other family made pulled pork and beef brisket plus all the trimmings.
This family KNOWS how to eat!!

It was suggested that people wear western attire in honor of their wedding 40 years ago.
Both bride and groom were in western outfits and arrived at the church in a horse and buggy.
So much fun then and now.

Here's our son Steve and his wife Sigrid enjoying the perfect temperatures and visiting with cousins
we haven't seen since Dave's brother's funeral 6 years ago.

Family...

That's what it's all about.

A wonderful day

Full of laughter, chats, terrific food and renewed relationships.

We are blessed and thankful.
