ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " T "

It seems we are TRAVELING THROUGH THE alphabet at break-neck speed.
TODAY'S letter is " T ".
THIS letter stands for TIPPY TOES.
Don't you just hate it when your feet don't TOUCH THE ground?
I THINK THESE TOES have a rather TIMID and prim pose TO THEM.
Don't you?
THERE'S no TELLING what she is waiting for.

My Granddaughter went on a field TRIP a few weeks ago.
She was able TO sail on THIS TALL ship called THE Hawaiian Chieftian.
THE THEATRICAL crew was dressed in period costume.
THEY were able TO sail under the TOWER Bridge
because it is a Vertical-lift Span.
THE TOWER Bridge opened for TRAFFIC in 1935.
THE TRUSS THAT lifts THE span is supported by
TWO vertical TOWERS which are 160 feet TALL.

I loved THESE TREES growing at Woods Lake.
Look at all the different TRUNKS and THEIR wonderful TEXTURES.
It makes me want TO TOUCH THE rough and smooth bark.
My Hubby and I had a TERRIFIC TIME with our son
TAKING one photograph after another.

THE huge airplane TURBINES fascinate me.
I guess you could say THEY TICKLE my fancy.
Be sure to click on the pictures to enlarge and see the detail.
When you are done, TROT over TO Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar
and see what TIMELY "T"s are posted.

JACK FROST VISITS AUTUMN

The lawn is covered in gorgeous red and golden leaves today.
Then Jack Frost visited and put a fringe of icy decoration on each leaf and blade of grass.
It is really beautiful.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " S "

Here we go again SALUTING ABC Wednesday
with the letter " S ".
My first SHOT is of one of my SONS, STEVE
and my SWEETHEART Hubby.
I love this photo of the SMALL lake
and the SILENT SCENERY that was a SOLACE to our SENSES.
The weather was SHIVERY cold and the SKY was SOMBER.
Even though the day was cold it was oh so beautiful and STILL.
As the mists lifted we SAW a dusting of fresh SNOW on the mountainSIDE.
Be SURE to enlarge any of my pictures to get the full STORY.

This STONE STATUE is called The Chinese Musician.
It was restored by Helen Phillips in 1994.
There were originally 20 SCULPTURES in a SERIES called "Pacific Unity".
The STATUES were located in the Court of Pacifica on Treasure Island.
Treasure Island is in the STATE of California.
The Court was part of the 1939 World's Fair.
The Fair was SITUATED on the Island between SAN Francisco and Oakland.

SHADOWS were captured by my camera as we SAUNTERED along the walkway.
SOME of the SHADOWS SORT of looked like SCAFFOLDING to me.
Okay
Perhaps I'm STRETCHING the word-find a bit!

There are quite a few " S " words here to SCOPE out.
I think the SIGN is rather SCARY.
It SEEMS the best way to obey this SIGN is to STAY out of the water.
To SEE what others have posted for " S ",
SCOOT
over to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my SIDEBAR.
Lastly.......
My name SHOWS added SIGNIFICANCE to the letter " S ".
It STANDS for SUE.

STANDING OUT IN THE STREET SUNSET

Tuesday evening we had the beginnings of a beautiful sunset.
The only way I could really see it was to stand out in the middle of the street.
I love how the moon peaked out from behind the tree for me.

From the backyard I get the faint splashes of pink.
The most intense color is sadly hidden by trees and houses.
The air was still and the birds were going home to roost.
It was a lovely way to end the day.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " R "

Its time for ABC Wednesday again and
we are RACING towards the finish line.
This ROOSTER ( or is this a chicken?) was RUNNING around in the parking lot of the zoo.
I think he was REQUESTING that we leave him alone.
He REALLY wasn't READY
to pose for the photo I REQUESTED.

An early morning RENDEZVOUS in Old Sacramento
made me the RECIPIENT of this lovely REFLECTION.
This is the Tower Bridge which RISES above the Sacramento RIVER.

I discovered this RADIANT face in REPOSE at the Embassy Suites in Sacramento.
Her REGAL hairpiece and RESTING, serene and REFINED expression
made me RESPOND by taking her picture.

There is something strangely ROMANTIC about the RED haired lady.
I REALLY don't know the REASON I feel that way.
Perhaps its just a RANDOM thought.
Maybe its because she has patiently RESIDED in the same corner for so long.
Be sure to check out Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar
to see what the REGULARS are READY to post for the letter " R ".
To RECAP:
Be sure to ROMP over to the ABC posts and REVIEW the entries.
Okay, I'm finished RAMBLING now.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " Q "

Welcome to ABC Wednesday. This weeks letter is " Q ".
Again I was in a QUANDRY
and was wondering what would QUALIFY to define " Q ".
That was QUITE the QUESTION.
Then we drove by this sign.
I knew then I could QUASH my fears for the letter " Q ".
The QUESTION Mark was perfect.
I had no QUALMS about that.

Sunday we had a not so QUICK rain storm.
It rained all day and QUITE hard at times.
I thought it was going to turn the yard into a QUAGMIRE.
When the rain QUENCHED the parched earth
it turned the plants into QUIESCENT QUARTZ or diamonds.

These aren't QUAKING Aspen leaves
but they do QUALIFY as being Fall leaves.
You can't QUARREL with that.
They are the QUINTESSENCE example.

I suggest you don't QUAFF this drink.
Perhaps a QUACK made the cocktail.
It would make you feel QUEASY since it is made of resin.
Keep it on the Q T.
Its a QUASI Martini .
So be QUICK and get in the QUEUE
to see what others have posted for the letter " Q ".
If you have a QUERY go to Mrs. Nesbitt's link on my sidebar.
Just don't QUIBBLE about it.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " P "

Hope Valley has POSITIVELY the most PLEASANT
and PERFECT PLACES for PICTURE-taking.
I call this PHOTO ... " Stairway to PARADISE. "
As with all my PICTURES, be sure to enlarge them to get the full benefit.

This is the last of the POMEGRANATES on our tree.
The unusual thing about this POMEGRANATE is the POSITION of the stem.
Most of the fruit hangs with the stem on the opposite end as the flower.

Fence POSTS always seem to grab my attention.
Someone PAINSTAKINGLY PRODUCED them years ago.
The Fall PALETTE PAINTS a POTPOURRI of tans and yellows against the foggy morning sky.
PEACEFUL, isn't it?

What is this PECULIAR PIECE of PRICELESS PHOTOGRAPHY?
Why its my PIGGY log!
Use your imagination to see (P)unny hunk of wood.
PERHAPS its difficult to PRETEND its a PIG.
I won't be PERSNICKETY and go on with useless PALAVER over it.
Now you have had a PEEK into how my mind operates.
PLEASE PROCEED to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar to see what others have POSTED for the letter " P ".

THANKSGIVING IS COMING

Driving home from lunch the other day we saw this wonderful sight.
There was a whole group of wild turkeys making their way through the field.
They were much closer until they saw us trying to take their pictures.
Be sure to enlarge this photo to see the detail.
