SKY ???

We didn't make it to the Fair this year
so I decided to show a photo from last Summer's visit.
I like the textures of the puffy clouds through the blue sun shade.
Enlarging it will give you a better perspective.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " B "

The BLOG for today is about the letter " B ".
Do you see the BITTY curls of BARK on our Manzanita limb?
The BARK looks like wood shavings.
Enlarging the picture will give you the BEST view.

What more can I say BUT this is the way
we saw the BEAUTIFUL BLUE sky up at Lake Tahoe.
One just can't BE BLASE' about the BRILLIANT color.

BALANCING rocks from Granite BOULDERS is a BASIC pastime
while we BUMBLE along the riverBED.

Last, BUT in no way least is the word BIRTHDAY.
Today is our older son's BIRTHDAY.
I BELIEVE this picture shows alot about who he is.
He is a wonderful family man who adores his kids.
He loves the great outdoors and is passionate about photography.
We are BLESSED to have him for our son.
Happy BIRTHDAY!!!

SPUR OF THE MOMENT GET-AWAY

After finding out that I didn't have jury duty
Hubby and I jumped in the car and took off for Lake Tahoe.
Its just a 2 hour drive from our home
and a million miles away from worries and cares.
The pines smelled so good and the weather was absolutely perfect.
We were gone just one night but it did us both a world of good.
This is a shot of Emerald Bay from a vista point.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " A "

Welcome to # 7 of ABC Wednesday .
Its time to travel through the ALPHABET AGAIN, beginning with the letter " A ".
My first picture is of the AWESOME ARTERY clogging burger
from the burger joint called Squeeze Inn.
They put the cheese on the meat in such AN ARTFUL way.
It makes A skirt of yummy fried cheese AROUND the entire burger.
I ABSOLUTELY loved every greasy, juicy bite AND won't have ANOTHER one for a very long time.
I don't know if my ARTERIES could take it.

On A walk AT the Maidu Indian grounds I noticed this great fence.
I loved the way the construction made A series of capital A's.

It seems AFRICA is ALWAYS on my mind these days.
Perhaps you would like to stay AT this transit hotel?
The sign says ACCOMODATIONS ARE AVAILABLE.
Its hard to know what's behind the walls though.

AWWWWW.....
This is A sweet little guy named Cimmeron.
At least that's what it sounded like.
He was ALWAYS happy and APPRECIATIVE
of ANY ATTENTION we gave him.
ANOTHER team from our church is ACTUALLY
visiting him and the Maasai tribe Today.
I guess that's why my thoughts keep straying back to my beloved AFRICA.
Be sure to enlarge the pictures to see things in better detail.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " Z "

The end of the alphabet. " ZED " or " Z ". We've made it through a ZILLION posts to come to this point.
I thought I would post the ZANY and silly hat I wore
at Chick -fil-A for their chicken restaurant promotion.
The cow is their ZEALOUS mascot that encourages everyone to eat more chicken and not him.
Being full of ZEST got me a complete meal for Free. Nobody knew me, So... why not?

Here we have some cubic ZIRCON earrings. Not the real things but pretty just the same.

Every fair or carnival has Fortune Telling booths. Perhaps ZOLTAR will ZIP a secret to you.

The book of ZEPHANIAH is four books from the end of the Old Testament.
Its only 3 chapters long and in them the prophet ZEPHANIAH has words of warning about Judgement Day .
Its an interesting book that isn't read very often.

Thanks for traveling through the alphabet with me.

BEGINNINGS

Thought I'd post the beginnings of the pomogranite.
This bud will grow and by September will be just right to pick.
The weather forecasts temperatures at 100 degrees today.
Its not the best day for my Hubby to be sick with a miserable cough.
He's going to stay home and nurse it while I go to church.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
Be sure to enlarge the photo to see the detail.

COW APPRECIATION DAY

Its Cow Appreciation Day, nation-wide at Chick-fil-A restaurant.
I got an entire meal for free just for wearing the silly Captian's hat.
Well worth the craziness.

The place was packed with lots of funny costumes and people eating for free.
I loved my Spicy Chicken Sandwich meal. It was spicy and I had to cool my mouth with an ice cold Dr. Pepper. Yummmm....
What a great place for lunch today.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " Y "

Here we are at the next to the last letter of the alphabet.
Half the YEAR is gone and we are down to " Y ".
I wanted to show YOU some of our YEARLY YIELD of our own plums from our tree.

We have shared so many with friends and family.
There is just enough for one or two more YUMMY Plum Kuchens.
YESTERDAY we picked the last juicy batch.

Summertime often means YELLOWJACKET wasps like to join my picnic in the YARD.
I like this kind of YELLOWJACKET much better. No stings.
Just YOUNGSTERS having a great time riding one at the County Fair.

I had to add a shot from our trip to Kenya. Its hard to believe it was just one YEAR ago this month.
The YOUNG kids are in charge of caring for their YOUNGER brothers and sisters.
They have a much harder life than YOU or I do.

THE GRANDDOGGER

We are dog sitting the Granddaughters Labradoodle for a few days.
This is Snickerdoodle.

Shes sweet and full of energy.
Trying to catch her in a still moment to get some pictures was no small feat.

Much of the time is spent playing with this ball and the rest is spent sitting on my feet.
