The BLOG for today is about the letter " B ".
Do you see the BITTY curls of BARK on our Manzanita limb?
The BARK looks like wood shavings.

What more can I say BUT this is the way
we saw the BEAUTIFUL BLUE sky up at Lake Tahoe.
One just can't BE BLASE' about the BRILLIANT color.
BALANCING rocks from Granite BOULDERS is a BASIC pastime
while we BUMBLE along the riverBED.
Last, BUT in no way least is the word BIRTHDAY.
Today is our older son's BIRTHDAY.
I BELIEVE this picture shows alot about who he is.
He is a wonderful family man who adores his kids.
He loves the great outdoors and is passionate about photography.
We are BLESSED to have him for our son.
Happy BIRTHDAY!!!

Great post! The wood shavings are an inspired idea! Happy birthday to your son. That rock balancing is quite an art. My neighbors undertook to do a big one and it remained up for months until we had the 7.2 earthquake. They still have a smaller one up.
Lovely photos! I so love trees/bushes with the reddish bark, or bark that peels. We have a River Birch that has a lot of personality. In the northwest the Madrone trees are my favorite.

Amazing how the tree bark looks like, we have a custom on certain day in the summer people will balance egg on the floor, some have been standing over a month!!
