HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Its hard to believe but 46 years ago today we were married.
Lots of life has happened in those years and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
To another 46!!

BLUE SKY AND RAIN CLOUDS

At last we have some blue skies with some rain clouds thrown in for good measure.
I'm afraid this weekend will be more rain than blue skies.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " B "

A Pop Icon turns 50.

Welcome to ABC Wednesday and the letter " B ".
The letter " B " is for a bundle of Bubble Wrap on a blue background.
People have walked to the alter dressed in it, wrapped their packages and even made displays at art museums. Mostly, they like the sound it makes when they destroy it. Its the stress reducer disguised as package cushioning.
Did you know the the product once was envisioned as a new type of wallpaper?

Bubble Wrap on a black background.
Did you know that there are more than 250 pages on Facebook devoted to Bubble Wrap?
Bubble Wrap is made by a company called Sealed Air in the state of New Jersey.
Air is trapped between plastic sheets after they pass over several rollers, one of which creates the indentations for the bubbles.
Bubble
Wrap became an important cultural icon during the growth of computers. Something was needed to protect delicate components during shipping.
So Bubble Wrap, Happy Birthday. I'm glad you are 50 years old today, besides, I just love bursting your bubbles.

As always, enlarging the pictures will show more detail.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " A "

Well, here we are again for another round of ABC Wednesday.
I accept the challenge of finding new pictures for a letter of the alphabet every week.
The first photo is The Big Apple. That's the name for the awesome city of New York.

Here is another Big Apple.

No Awards for my photos at a local photo contest.

All I got was affirmations from my husband and friends for my artistic efforts.
To see what others have posted for the letter A go to Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar.
Why not join in yourselves?
As always, enlarging the pictures will show the detail more clearly.

MORE FACES OF HAITI

I just wanted to share 4 more faces of Haiti taken a few years ago.
Women carry everything on their heads. This was wash day and women and young children were on their way to the river to wash their clothes.

This little guy was making his way to who knows where. I don't know how he walked on that sharp rubble.

Beautiful people of Haiti at a happier time.

Its no wonder women suffer from neck and back pain. Everything is carried on the head.

FACES OF HAITI

Lets remember these beautiful faces of Haiti and offer our prayers for them.

Children, the worlds future.

My husband and I met all of these people while in Haiti a few years ago.

My heart aches for the devestation that has hit their country.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " Z "

Today is the final letter of our alphabet, the letter " Z ".
At our final letter last go-around I posted Zebras in the zoo.
I said that my final posting this time would be the real thing in real life.

We saw many herds of these beautiful animals on our Kenyan safari.

Though this is a little out of focus since we were riding along the rutted "road".
I love how these Zebras were as curious about us as we were about them.

Don't you just love the amazing patterns of their black and white coats?
Be sure to enlarge each shot to see the landscape more clearly.
Check out Mrs. Nesbitts link on my sidebar to see what others have posted for " Z ".

FINALLY BLOOMING

This is not a very exciting picture,
but on a gray, dull day
finding my Christmas cactus blooming
makes everything a bit more colorful.
Enlarging the photo will show more of the flowers' detail.

ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " Y "

Here we are at the next to the last letter of the alphabet. Todays letter is " Y ".
" Y "
is for the Yucca plant. Its a strange plant which was finished blooming when we saw them in the Nevada desert.
The pictures will look more detailed if you click on them to enlarge.

Actually this Yucca looks pretty yucky to me. No more flowers up on the yellowish stem.
