This is not a very exciting picture,
but on a gray, dull day
finding my Christmas cactus blooming
makes everything a bit more colorful.
Enlarging the photo will show more of the flowers' detail.

Interesting perspective! My wife has not had much luck with her Christmas cactus for two years now.

My Christmas cactus didn't bloom at Christmas, it seems to have a mind of its own.

I've never had a Christmas Cactus. It's on my list to get this year.
I like the composition..even on a dull dark day.

I actually like it: the composition and the fact that it looks like a splash of colour in an otherwise almost black and white photograph.
My mum had the most wonderful Christmas Cactus which sadly I did not have a gift for it;s growth! Lovely pink on such a cold period!
My late Mother in law loved these plants and had several. They were always in full bloom by Christmas. I think I need to get one for myself. They're so lovley. That's a wonderful perspective.

a beautiful flower. Our front porch has 6 blooming Christmas cactus on it. they have been blooming since the week before Christmas and sadly now the blooms are starting to fall. but they are wonderful while they bloom

I love Christmas cactus and loved your photo, especially the mood-lifting color and the subtle reflection of the bloom on the pot. A brief visit to the Sibley garden center at Calloway Gardens in Georgia in November bowled me over with their display of multitudes of white Christmas cactus planted like bedding plants. Thanks for sharing.

An unusual photo angle Sue. Did you know that these are very easy to grow from leaf-segment cuttings? Just break off a leaf segment and plant it into some potting mix. They are very hardy too. Don't water too much.
I used to have a gorgeous very pale pink Christmas cactus, and every summer I'd leave it outside in the garden, and bring it in the house around October, and it would be chock full of blooms at Christmas. Then one fall I forgot to bring it in..... R.I.P. my lovely christmas Cactus.
