Thankful Thursday and the Rest of the Story ...
I am so very thankful for my family and friends.
This last week I had two wonderful phone conversations with friends that I haven't seen or talked to in a very long time.
Conversations like those fill up the tiny empty spots in my life. This is not meant to be a downer or Poor Me. We all have spots in our lives that aren't quite full because we miss those friends. I also had some great text "talks" with family. I love when we can still keep in touch when their lives are really busy.
I am also thankful that Dave and I had enough energy to be out in the backyard and get some of our bushes trimmed. Took us a few hours because of the "Time Outs" but it did get done, with no ill effects.
Akk ... for some reason I can't download my photo of the bushes now. If it comes up later I will try to insert it.
Yay, finally did it. Those bushes don't look like any big deal, but they were completely overgrown and blocking the walkway on both sides. The 2 bushes in front of the windows were literally trying to send and invade their vines into the windows. Seems like there is always something to take control of around here !

The picture of the Footsie Wootsies was taken at the California State Fair a few years ago. Those things were all the rage then. After walking around for hours in 100+F. temperatures the vibrators always had a steady line.
Did we ever use them? Nope, but whenever we are tired we always talk about wishing we had a Footsie Wootsie at our house ... 😃😁!!!

I still can't believe you and Dave are working in your back yard like a couple of teenagers. Owning a home is wonderful, but it sure does come with a lot of work. I love your back yard, but so do the weeds and bushes. I hope you did take time for breaks, and drink lots of water or lemonade. Surely there are some teenage boys that would be happy to help you. I'm going to put that on my prayer list. Love and Hugs, and please slow down, you are making me tired..HaHa.

I've never heard of those at the fair. I really miss going to the State Fair. It's been a while since I went. It was always so hot during the day when we went. Thanks for letting us know a little more about your photo. I'm glad you got some of your bushes trimmed. They look nice, and the one thing I do remember in your area and most of California is the lizards that come in the summers. It will be much easier to see those little guys with your trimmed bushes. For some reason, we don't get them in the mountains.

Okay, so now I understand your picture that you posted on Facebook! And yes, you did a lot of work and I heartily commend you for it...but oh! We have to be so careful not to overdo it these days! I've found that it doesn't take much and then I suffer for several days afterwards. Oh those footsie wootsies are just too much! That is hilarious!! I wonder if anyone cleaned them in between customers? LOL. Funny stuff out there in this old world. Have a lovely rest of your week. And yes, having conversations with dear old friends and/or family is something to treasure. My phone call friends are getting fewer and fewer. Most everyone texts these days, and I just love to have a real conversation with someone I love talkiing with. Too many of my dear old friends have already gone on to heaven. And there's no phones in heaven, sadly. Maybe that's actually a good thing. Take care my friend.
That was a big job done in your yard. Well done. That is one of the reasons we moved into a village. So we didn't have a big garden to look after. Never heard of a footsie wootsie. I have a lovely girl who is a physiotherapist. She comes to massage my hands and feet every fortnight.
That footsie footsie is a scam if I ever saw one, bilking poor consumers out of their quarters. I'll take a free bench any day.
Glad you were able to get the trimming done. I'm the same way anymore, it takes me forever to get a job finished because I have to keep resting.
I don't know that I would have tried out that foot massager but they sure are interesting
