Happy Presidents Day ... celebrated in the USA ...
I hope you all had a great weekend.
We celebrated Valentines Day by going to a much needed grocery shopping.
I hadn't darkened the doors of the store for 3 weeks and we were out of just about everything. Our first meal of that day was samples at Costco ... haha ... some little sausage thingies were pretty good for starters...
Then it was on to Walmart. Walked our legs off but got most of what we needed. Next on the agenda was putting drain cleaner in all of the house drains. CAN YOU FEEL THE PURE ROMANCE?
Dinner was hot dogs and baked beans in front of the tv watching the Olympics.
We were so pooped that it was all we could muster. But you know ... It's all good when you do the mundane things of life with your Best Friend.
Now we are in for a full week of much needed rain.
Thankfully we have our pumps at the ready.
I sure hope the rain and wind won't blow all of our blossoms away this year.
All it's taken is one good soaking and the weeds are having a field day.
Very pretty greenery but oh my aching back in the future.
I guess I have meandered long enough so I'll say:
Always be Grateful
Always be Kind

So Valentine's Day was very DRAINing for both of you. Hot dogs and the Olympics sounds wonderful! A great date night for us seniors. Your flower photo is gorgeous.
well phooey, I wish I had thought of Draining for both of you. that fits perfect, and I would love anyone who would come and do that for me. ha ha the days of wine and roses are over, now its Costco/Walmart, ha ha ha... I love hotdogs and beans, and also love quiet times at home and now with bob's new ears and my new anxiety pill, we are having some really quiet times
Oh that Ginny - she's full of wit!
Yes, just doing life with your friend is a wonderful thing.
Your photos are so pretty. That sky is full of drama!
It's fun walking through Costco. Wow, you did Walmart too! I've been watching figure skating. We have rain today. Beautiful flower and sorry about the weeds. Hope you have a great week.
Hot dogs and baked beans and watching the Olympics is perfect for Valentine's Day. I love hot dogs, and always stuff them when I make them sometimes. So good you are having so much rain. We have had some rain here too, and this morning, I looked out my window and saw snow. It was a light snow, but I think more is on the way. Thanks for reminding me no mail today. I forgot about that. Have a wonderful week. : )
Oh, I forgot to mention your blossom photo. The middle of the flower looks like rainbow colors on the screen.
Your VD was similar to mine! lol Great minds think alike.
Haha, my Valentines Day starrted out very similar to yours. Samples at Costco and Trader Joe, and a huge shopping to restock as I was pretty much out of everything.
I think the way in which you and Dave observe Valentine's defines what Real Love means. Tom didn't even realize what day it was until his daughter reminded him, lol!
Sue, you got food in the house - you got exercise - and you had dinner - sounds good to me.
That sounds a lot like the Valentines day my son described to me when I asked what him and his wife did. I spent the day at home with Gibbs. I waited till the next day to do my grocery shopping
We always wake up on Valentine's Day and say, I love you...HV'sDay!
Then we just get on with it. I think Young Lovers have more "fun" with the day.
Love the flower!!
hugs
Donna
I appreciate you comment about shopping with Dave. I never take outings with hubby for granted either. We are so fortunate to be together after so many years. Take care!
Oh, it sounds like you were really ready for a good day shopping...but I do understand how tiring that is. We also had hot dogs last night after our day's excursion to the doctor/radiology clinic an hour away. I actually had some leftover homemade taco meat with pinto beans in it that I used like a chili on my hot dog, and hubby had some of the left over baked beans from Sunday's dinner that he mixed with the taco meat/bean concoction to have with his hot dogs! Really fancy stuff there! Trying to use up all the leftovers before I have to cook something else new. Yes, it's wonderful to spend our days with our "best friend/mate" after so many years together...we know we can just be ourselves and no pretenses necessary. We are blessed and very thankful indeed. Amen.
Sounds like the kind of special celebrating that Sam and I did. Hey, you can't beat a good ol' hotdog. Wish I had one right now. Same here Sue...I had not be to the grocery store in several weeks, until this morning. We didn't even have any potatoes..lol. I think enjoying a nice Valentines in the comfort of our own homes is so much more relaxing. Hoping you get the rain, but not the heavy kind of stuff. Those weeds..I wish I had a penny for everyone of those little buggers. Hugs...
Is it supposed to snow down in Rocklin? "They're saying" we're supposed to get some. I hope I hope I hope!
I love samples at Costco. IT sounds like a very nice Valentines Day for you and Dave. Very sweet
It is very, very good to do these things with our best friend, indeed. We had veggie dogs last, tater tots and homemade bread. It was simple and just sharing it with each other is the best!
I've not been around because I've been decluttering and then hubby got sick and then I had an ear, tooth and head thing. Back now, catching up.
