NOT THE WAY WE PLANNED

Well, our Saturday turned out a bit differently than we had planned.

Dave just hasn't felt quite right for the last few weeks.  Everything came to a head yesterday.

He was feeling just "off" and then began to experience very sharp pains in his left side.  It kept getting worse so I drove us to our "second home" ... ER ... 4 hours worth !

They took the usual labs and then a C scan.  The conclusion was what we thought it would be, Acute Diverticulitis.  No surgery but good ole Amoxicillan to the rescue.

We both slept fairly well last night and are just taking it easy today, after all Sunday is suppose to be The Day of Rest.  Never a dull moment around here !

So, the skies are Dribbling and its gray and blah..a perfect setting for us.

On a different note:

Here is our Bounty of produce from our yard this year.  I didn't think we got any but there was one oh so tiny lonely pear on our tree.  Now it sits proudly above our sink just defying the odds. ๐Ÿ˜‡

That's all I got today folks,

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

Oh that dreadful diverticulitis! I haven't had an episode in months and I'd like to keep it that way! Poor Dave - glad he was seen and received the antibiotics. Rest and relax.
What a nice pear! Who gets to eat it? Oh the decisions!

How I dislike the ER! I'm so sorry you both had to experience that 4-hour wait for a diagnosis, but glad they decide to admit him.
Thank you so much for the recipe!

I'm so sorry! I used to be in the E.R. every month with diverticulitis. And it was always on the weekend, when all the drunks and car crashes were there. This went on for years. I was admitted so many times. Diverticulitis is NOT fun!!

That's a good looking pear, the best I've seen in a long time.

I'm so sorry your husband and you had to go through all of that last week. It's good no surgery was required. I always have to take probiotics when taking antibiotics to keep the yeast away. You have a pear tree, how wonderful! You know, pears used to be my favorite fruit as a child, until Cherries took over haha. That photo of the single pear on the sink and looking out your window is delightful. I hope your husband feels better very soon. Have a pleasant November week.

While an ER visit is never a good thing, this time it wasn't as serious as could have been not that diverticulosis is any less painful. ENjoy that bit of producev from your yard ๐Ÿ˜‹
