Whew, yesterday got pretty warm, or should I say hot?
I went out to our backyard anyway.
The weeds were calling me !
Our sprinkler system has been fixed and things are finding new life.
Even the weeds are thrilled with the drinks of water they are getting.
Dave and I are trying to get ahead of the new growth and to get things under control before they go to seed.
Its a huge job but we are tackling it bit by bit, inch by inch.
Some of you may be wondering why the garden hose is out on the grass when I said that the sprinklers were fixed. There is one spot right in the middle of the lawn that neither side of the set sprinklers reach, so every once in a while we have to accommodate the thirsty part too.
I have to admit that my thighs, knees and "backside" muscles are a bit tender this morning. So I guess its all good anyhoo...
And so, the Saga continues... a little bit each day and soon it will be time to start all over again ... π π³π...
Temps today 96F and tomorrow 97F, which means it may hit 100F by 4PM.
Then its on to the front yard ... Sigh ...

Always be Kind

I have to hand it to you and Dave. That is hard work, especially when it's hot. Drink plenty of water, take regular breaks, and avoid overexertion. The weeds will always be there. Have a good week, Sue.
As much as I love having a yard, we've gotten to the point where maintaining it just isn't so easy anymore. My hat is off to you for getting out there and pulling those weeds, but like Debby said above, drink plenty of water and take plenty of breaks, etc. It's so easy to get dehydrated when outside in the sun and heat and exerting ourselves. I do what I can here, but due to back/shoulder issues, I just can't get down there and pull weeds like I used to, and neither can hubby. We've had to enlist (pay for) some help recently, but thankfully with fall and winter approaching, things won't be growing as much so maybe we can take a break for a while. Take care my friend, and sit back and enjoy the fruit of your labors!
Good for you, it's not easy! Especially when it's so hot! Stick to doing it a little at a time.
That is one reason I am glad we don't have a yard to work on - we have a maintenance company - but then you can't have a pretty yard either. Good for you - I hate that you are sore.
A neverending annoyance!!
Gilda was right, "It's always something." I'm going to make it a point to get outdoors early tomorrow and bathe our drought-stricken shrubs. Please take good care of yourself! xo
