SUMMER THUNDER

Well, this morning we have had something that is unusual for living down in the Sacramento Valley, especially in the late summer time.

Thunder and lightening !!  The mountains always have it this time of year and they are now getting blasted by rain, thunder and lightening.  Its getting darker and darker now at 10AM.  Weather doesn't say rain but I sure wish we would get some.

So, I went out in the front and snapped a few pictures .  Why not?  Its more Blog Fodder ... (:0)

Waiting to see if I need to take our flag down.

I love the layers of clouds.

Then looking behind me in the easterly direction ...

So, I don't think I will be going out and trying to finish some weeding in the backyard.

Can't you feel the excitement building?

To be continued.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

That system passed through here around 5-6 pm, but it didn’t bring any significant weather our way. I did hear some distant thunder, and it sounds like the Trinity Mountains experienced quite a storm with lightning, rain, and hail.

As for rain...that winter storm door hasn't opened yet. More like Oct/Nov.

I love that you got yourself some blogger fodder. That's fun. Spooky looking sky. I LOOOOOVE those.

I am keeping my fingers crossed...that you all get a good rain. Those skies are looking mighty dark. I don't mind thunder, but I don't like lightning. I guess you have to have the lightning to have the thunder though...Hoping in rains in the mountains where the fires are...this is so sad to see the beautiful trees burn and then it makes me sad for all the little animals. Hope you all get a long soaking shower...

It does seem like you are going to get some cooler weather and some rain - I sure hope so!

That's a dark sky! Hope you get some rain from it. We had a dark sky like that this morning and my husband is trying to build a shed. It started raining, he gathered everything up, covered the lumber and about 10 minutes later it stopped and the sun came out. You just never know!

Your photos are great. We seldom get thunder and lightening here too.
