Good Morning !
Yesterday Dave and I had a few errands to run. We pulled into a space in the parking lot. As I got out of the car I looked down at the asphalt.
What did I see?
A ton of change scattered right in front of where I was standing.
Find a Penny, pick it up, and all the day you'll have good luck.
I always pick up loose change but its usually its only a penny.
Dave and I collected 55 pennies and 80 cents in nickels and dimes !
Why wouldn't someone stop to collect all that change if they had dropped it?
$1.35 isn't anything to sneeze at.
I have to admit that I looked around to see if we were on some kind of prank show or (now I'm dating myself) Candid Camera ...
Now ... where will I spend my treasure? 😍😊😉...
How about this for Thankful Thursday?
There was an added bonus to my day. I got a phone call from an old high school friend. He was desperately trying to have Dave and I go to the 64th High School Reunion.
Yikes, 64 years ago...
I had to say we couldn't attend for various reasons but it was so good to visit again. We do it on occasion via messenger and the last time I saw Jim in person was 5 years ago when he came to visit and have lunch with us. It sure was a trip down memory lane.
Always be Grateful
Always be Kind

Fun find for Thankful Thursday. I only pick up pennies that are heads up. Not sure why, but that's what I always heard.
I think $1.35 is a lot of drop and not pick up. I hate to pick on this generation - but I have to say my grandson just might not pick it up. He doesn't carry cash or coin at all. Not me!
Blessings were falling all around you !! How wonderful. Strange isn't it how a person would not take the time to pick up change? That much would for sure by a sonic drink. My mother used to always say find a penny pick it up..... Strangest thing, but not really. When my niece had her second child, laying on the floor in her room was a penny dated the year my mom passed away. We told her that Mamaw was there watching over her and Cooper. I wish you all could go to your reunion. Glad you were able to have a good visit via the phone. It's so fun to connect with old friends.
I think it's crazy too that someone would drop that and not pick it up.
Glad you got to catch up with your friend!
I always pick up coins when I see them. As a kid, I knew a park favoured by hormonal couples and I would scour that area. Often, where they had lain in the grass, coins would fall out of pockets, and sometimes it was quite a haul!
Better spend those pennies fast before they go out of circulation. I heard that the USA is thinking of getting rid of the penny. Probably one of trump's ideas.
I wonder if the change dropper was someone who couldn't bend down easily and decided to let it go. 🤔
Your reunion story reminds me of the Golden Girls episode where they went to a random reunion thinking it was so long ago no one would know. They took some unused name tags and it worked. 😂
Many people don’t like change. I don’t pay with cash and rarely carry loose change. I don’t like to pick up anything off the ground and money is so dirty, never knowing where it’s been. Yuck. I certainly wouldn’t need it. Not enough to buy anything with these days. Maybe add it to your spare change jar if you have one: Then go to the bank, to get the wrappers to turn in the rolls. Hmm seems like way too much effort for $1.35. 😆 Heck even the Dollar tree is now a $1.50. I’d probably leave it for someone else who needed it. Now if it was a dollar bill, I’d pick it up. Crazy huh?
Yikes, that's a lot of change! I would love to know the story behind it. We both have bad backs, so will not pick up a penny. But we will if it is anything else!
I, too, would love to know the backstory behind this money! Maybe a germaphobe who didn't want to touch the ground? That wouldn't stop me from doing the same as you!
That is a great find! We keep a change jar and when it is full, we cash it in at the bank. Always fun to see how much we collect. Thank you for linking up.
I would pick up the money too. I wouldn’t be my mother’s daughter if I didn’t.
This is a great find for your post. Blessings.
Well that was a fun find - the change and then having the nice phone call from a friend that many years ago. I never went to a high school reunion. Now I wouldn't even know if they still do it. I didn't like high school so I didn't ever really want to go to the reunion. I might have missed some nice times.
What a lucky find. It is nice to get a message or visit from old friends.
That's a lot of change to find in one spot. I can't believe someone wouldn't have picked it up when they dropped it. LOL on the Candid Camera. I remember watching that show.
I graduated in 1962 so right behind you by a year I think. I would pick up the change, but most people would not. I don't pick up a penny if its just one though. I am trying to think if there is anything you can buy with 1.35... I can't think of anything, even the dollar tree
Wonderful Thankful post! Great that he reached out too.
Definitely, find a penny and pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck. So glad you got to talk to your high school friend. Hope you have a nice weekend.
Love it.
As for why the person didn't pick it up, I knew of a pastor once who made a practice of intentionally dropping his loose change whenever he got to the parking lot after exiting a store in the mall.
Loose change adds up. There's actually a book I read entitled "Loose Change", and it was kind of interesting and quirky. It's about how a wife started collecting her husband's "loose change" that he would just leave on the dresser and never missed. She saved it up and opened up a savings account at the bank with it. It kept adding up and she started doing nice things for people with it. Her husband was very stingy and never gave her any money to spend, so he couldn't figure out where she could be getting any money...any way it has a special ending, and her stingy husband had a hard lesson to learn. I always think of that story when I empty out my purse and find loose change in the bottom. We do collect it and keep it in a special "jar". Once in a while we cash it in when it gets too heavy. You'd be amazed at how it can add up!
Really- why wouldn't someone pick up all that change? Maybe they couldn't bend. Well it was a nice find for you and yes I remember Candid Camera and there were times that we always wondered if we were on it!! I have never been to one of my high school reunions. We were a class of 1100 students and I just never thought I would remember anyone. Mine last one was the 50th!
