FRIDAY FLASHBACK

 Where has this week gone?

I really can't believe it's Friday already.

When digging around in our closet I finally found some more "vintage" photos of our family.  I had been looking for these for some time and couldn't figure out where they had gone.

The first one is of my Dad.  Its dated 1942.  He had been drafted to come and become a welder in the San Francisco Shipyards, helping make the huge battleships.  He said that he was "just" one of 9000 working at the Shipyards.

This is a photo he sent my Mom who was waiting to come out to California and be reunited with Dad.

He had many scars on his legs from the hot molten lead.

This was a few months later when this handsome guy was reunited with his wife.
Don't you think my Dad is the perfect model?

Mom in April 1943.  They were so happy to be together again.

Three years later they were able to buy their first home and become the "All American Family."

I especially like this scene. We have that clock sitting on our hutch right now.  Now I know that its about 80 + years old.

Its fun to reminisce about my history.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

I wonder if your Dad knew my FIL. He also worked at the shipyard after WW2. He was in the Pacific. They were there and then bought their first house on Serena Dr in Pacifica mid 50’s. Small world.
Boy you really favor your dad. Great picture memories, Sue. Glad you shared with us.

Your dad is a handsome model. Oh, those legs must have hurt with those burns. Was that you on the carpet coloring?
