You aren't going to believe where we were AGAIN yesterday ... ER .. !
Poor Dave was in such pain in the same place as where the drain was put in for 10 days and then removed, back in December. Fluid or a cyst they never were very clear.
Same tests as last Sunday, Blood work up ,Urine, CT Scan. Nothing really showed up as causing the pain. They gave him IV's loaded with pain meds which made him loopy and sick so they gave him anti-nausea meds which succeeded in making him sick and very sleepy. That's the way we were discharged. Dave was miserable and slept most of the rest of the day. Pain is still there when he turns certain ways, tries to sit and generally move.
Our son Mark ... the nurse ... got access to his test records and thinks maybe he has adhesions on his scar tissue. It really makes a lot of sense as to where the pain is. So we have to contact primary Dr. and see him in person to get to the bottom of all of this. Maybe a referral to a specialist who can delve into the idea of adhesions. In the mean time he still hurts and the meds they gave him to take at home are Opiates. Not going to take those unless he is out of control...
So we are back to square one but at least we slept fairly well and today is here..
This just can't go on.
On a prettier note, our Crape Myrtle tree is really doing its thing.

Oh NO! I agree it might be adhesions. How fast can you get into your doctor's office? Hopefully he can expedite a visit to a specialist. Continued prayers!
Oh dear. Prayers for proper answers from the medical folks as to what's causing all this and a way to treat it so Dave won't be in pain anymore.
Sorry to read he has been going through pain etc. Hope the solution is easy.
I pray you find an answer to help Dave! Take care you two.
Oh my. I sure hope Dave can get some relief and answers. Those ER visits get old, don’t they? Ugh!
Ooooh nooo! Tom had a similar reaction to the opiates he was given a few years ago ... never again!
Lifting prayers right now for the both of you.
I'm so sorry! Poor Dave and poor you too. Praying for you both.
Sorry to read about the pain that Dave has been dealing with, Sue, and hope that your son, the nurse can help get some answers for you both.
I am so sorry to hear that. Nice to have someone in the family who is in the medical profession who can help you figure it out. It's frustrating going to the ER, having them do all the tests only to tell you they don't know what's wrong.
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear this! Praying they will find the source of the pain and be able to do something to alleviate it without the use of opiates. Praying for comfort and healing and rest for both of you. (((hugs)))
