TOMORROW IS MOTHER'S DAY

I am truly blessed to have had a wonderful and loving Mom.

She was kind, soft spoken and made a welcoming home for my Dad and myself. She loved the Lord with all her heart.  Mom and my Dad were active in church from my earliest days.  They served and were so hospitable to everyone.

Mom was born 116 years ago in Minneapolis, MN, moved to CA in the very early1940's and lived here until her death 30 years ago, this coming December 26th.

I thought  I would share a few photos of her early years.  I must dig out some old albums to find more photos of her and our family.

This is her high school graduation photo.

I really love that stylish hair-do.

This was taken in 1927 when she and my dad were dating.
This was his new car.

Photo taken in 1942

This snapshot was taken at the San Francisco, CA Zoo in 1945 or 1946.  There is no date on the photo.
Doesn't everyone dress like this to visit the Zoo?
I just love the outfits and think Daddy is really "dapper" and that coat of my Mom's, wow so pretty.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

How very dear these photos are. Our mothers hold a special place in our hearts and that place never leaves us no matter how long they have been gone. Thank you Sue for sharing these photos of your lovely mom. The one with her driving your dads new car is so cute!! Happy Mother's Day to you.

That's probably how people dressed back then, even at the zoo.

What a wonderful tribute!

What an elegant lady, even in high school! How I wish people would dress with such pride (as they did back then).
Now you've given me a prompt to do a like-kind post tomorrow; I think she'd like that. Hugs!

That is how people dressed back then. We all think we are so stylish - don’t hold a candle to those days. Always so put together.
Love seeing the old photos!
I think you look like your dad! I can see your mom in there, too. A beautiful blend!

Such a fitting tribute to your mom. I love to see how stylish she was and it thrills me to see that I am not the only one that remembers how people would dress to go out in public.

Sweet tribute. 116 years ago?! Wow. Love the old photos. So many of us have Mom's in Heaven now. What a reunion we're gonna have, though, when we're all rejoicing at the feet of Jesus. Amen!? 😎
