NEVER HAVE I EVER ...

Yesterday was a crazy weather day, for us here in the Sacramento Valley.

I think we were trying to copy the Mid West with its changeable weather systems.

I had heard on the news there were tornado warnings for an area about an hour north of us.  I looked out the window and said to Dave , we better scoot to the grocery store before those clouds dump on us.

This is what we saw as we were driving that direction.

This is through the car window.
I have never seen the clouds so dark before.

When we arrived and parked our car, the dark clouds were jaw dropping to me.

As I was snapping that photo Dave said , turn around...
Can you believe it?

In another moment or two the black clouds lessened and the rest of the day was dull and gray.

Those black clouds were producing monumental snow in our mountains.

We only got showers for the rest of the day.

Today the weather can't decide what it's going to do.

I'm glad I had my cell phone to record the clouds.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

Oh Sue....what a capture you got. Do you remember years ago when there was Sky Watch Friday, and we were all posting pictures of the sky on Fridays. You would have won the prize. Fabulous shots. In all my years I've never seen the crazy weather thoughout the entire USA. Love you tons.!

Oh my gosh! And I can't believe you actually went out in that!! SO glad that it came to nothing, how strange!!! You got great photos, it is like something from a T.V. thriller!

Wow - such dark clouds! And incredible that the sky was blue facing the other way. Great shots!

You captured some very good photos of these clouds. Who would ever think that it would be fair looking in one direction and such DARK clouds in the other. Glad you all did not have any of the storms and tornados. Our weather today is so strange...kinda like the skies want to open up and flood, but so far no rain.

wow wow wow, awesome shots and so glad you got only rain... both are beautiful, back 6 years ago this was a common sight from our yard, look south and see beautiful clouds and north and see dark skies, now there are no white clouds only 96 degrees and the sky is solid blue and no rain and I have name our backyard jungle, Sahara Desert

Those captures were fantastic.
I think about the two directions - which way are we going to go towards? Light or dark.

We have been getting a lot of those dark clouds here in Kentucky. I am glad you only received rain showers.

Wow, glad you shared those photos. I have been wondering what it's been like in your area and other areas up there. . Kind of scary with tornado warnings. I'm from Kansas and moved at age 10 to california but I totally remember the times we had to go down to the basement.

Wow girl, I'm so glad you had your cell phone at the ready! Those are some angry-looking skies. Blessed to know y'all didn't get anything more severe than the rain!

Wow those are some clouds! I just watched a documentary called Twister about the 2011 devastating tornado that just about destroyed Joplin, Missouri. Those black clouds reminded me of that.

Nope up here, 178 miles north (I googled) we had light showers in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon.Today is sunny and clear. Yeah those dark clouds might give me a fright.

Glad nothing materialized from those clouds! But awesome photos. Anything is possible and we are hearing of more tornadoes in the valley than ever before.

Those are some ominous looking clouds. Amazing how you can see something like that in one direction and turn around and see something completely different. It's been like that here before as well. Crazy.

Oh my! What an angry looking sky! I know it all too well, as living in Colorado we get a wonderful mix of weather that always keeps us guessing. Today, the foothills, where I live, are predicted to get snow after a week in the 70s.

Wow, what an angry looking sky. I would have been afraid to be out and about. But then what an amazing contrast to the view Dave spotted behind you..
Great captures.
