Well, the weather prognosticators were right.
It rained all night but it wasn't stormy in our area. We are suppose to get steady rain all day and gusty winds. So far the winds haven't done their thing.
I went out in our backyard to scope things out. There are more almond blossoms appearing. I hope the blossoms will make it.
Our almond tree is very old and doesn't do well producing the nuts.
We are never sure when to pick them and often they haven't been pollenated.
We sure need the bees around here.
Since this is Thankful Thursday I will say that I am so thankful for the Nature we have right here in our own backyard. I'm also grateful for the rain stopping now and then so the water can run off. I am thankful for our utility pumps that come to our rescue when things get a bit "puddley".
Stay warm... Stay dry... Have a great day!

You have a big backyard! We got a dusting of snow but it’s all melted now, but other areas of Redding had several inches of snow.
Boy the mountains around here are gettin clobbered with snow. Just in time for Presidents week! With schools closed you can bet the ski resorts will be packed.
My almond tree looks fine - I don’t believe there was enough snow to damage it.
I’m thankful to be in a warm house today!

You do have a big back yard - looks wet right now though.
We used to have almond trees when we owned a house - now we don't have any trees. Hope spring comes soon for you!
I bet those almond blossoms are so pretty! None of those here. Guess what - it's snowing again!!!
Hurrah on no storms! Awhile ago, you asked me how I have all the energy to decorate the house for various occasions. The answer is: I don't!!! I used to be able to do it in a day or two. Now I have to start two weeks ahead of time. And we have a really small house. I have to keep running to sit down every five or ten minutes.
A rainy day here too. And still raining. Decided to take advantage of the rain to stay in and clean house which needed it very badly!! Finally fishished and decided to sit at the computer a while and visit friends.
What a lovely green yard!
Just when I was considering turning on our air conditioner, our temps did a U-turn. Like you, lots of rain and wind. Thankfully, despite last night's warnings, no tornados.
I hope your blossoms weren't terribly compromised!
What a nice back yard you have. It was raining a little here this morning and then this afternoon it was snowing.
oh wow....the almond tree really is loaded down with blooms...Hoping the rain or wind doesn't cause them to fall off. We have had a lot of rain around her as well. The Good Lord knows what we have need of. Can you believe it was 85 here last Friday and today it was 27 degrees. Crazy Texas Weather. You do have a very nice back yard....Hope you have a great harvest of almonds...
Great garden! Hope there isn’t any flooding.
the almond tree is beautiful even without nuts.. no idea how to grow them, but at least you don't have to bend and stoop to pick them up. Happy Valnetine day since I am a day late on your post. love you
We have had rain the past few days but nothing heavy at all. Hope you get some bees to help the tree. It would be great to enjoy the almonds.
Happy Valentine's Day. Take care.
Love your beautiful back yard. I miss my backyard from my long time home before we moved to the mountains. I miss my whole yard. We had an acre and I worked every day out planting and creating seat areas, etc. it was so fun. We got 5" of rain where we are in the mountains. It was crazy but no damage here at the house except for gutters that broke apart from wind and rain.
