Even though the temperature has been so hot lately, I just had to get out and begin raking the leaves from our sweet gum tree.
It seems that the leaves are falling before turning their usual pretty colors of orange and gold. Too much heat doesn't produce pretty photo ops.
Those still on the tree are pale and sort of dull. I am trying to keep up with the leaves so it isn't such a huge job.
No "jumping" in them this year...
Now, back to raking ... it's only 91F now...destined for 93F today and tomorrow 101F.
So much for cool and crisp days!
This is our fickle time of year where the temperatures are all over the place.

That sounds terribly hot to me. We will start mulching our leaves pretty soon.
It is not easy to rake in those temperatures! Take it easy!
Be careful raking in those temps - I wish it would cool down there.
Can they be mowed into mulch ... and save the raking for another day?
That's a nice pile you raked up! Dogs and little kids will be mighty tempted!
93* here today then the days start cooling down, slowly.
We have a Red Oak that turns but it's taking it's sweet time about it! lol

I do not know how you keep yourself from jumping in that! 🤗
That is awfully hot weather to be raking leaves. I'm glad I never have to do that job.
its even hot in the mountains. I love sweet gum trees and their usually beautiful colors. Not much happening around the lakes with fall colors yet.
I would enjoy having a sweetgum tree...I love their leaves and would love a gingko.
