THIS YEAR'S PEAR HARVEST

I am so excited to see fruit on one of our trees this year.

No plums or peaches.

The weather did a number on our fruit trees and also they are getting old and don't produce as well as they did in the past.

BUT

Our pear tree seems to be happy and bountiful.

Can't wait to pick them and sink my teeth into that juicy fruit.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I truly am thankful for fresh fruit from our own trees.

Oh Sue, those juicy pears. Love them. Best dessert ever is a pear praline pie!!! But eating them fresh and letting the jusice drip off your chin is the best!!

What nice harvest of pears you have, Sue. Do you have any favorite recipes or will you just enjoy eating the fresh fruit? We had a pear tree when we lived in VA, but it never produced any edible fruit,

I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to have a healthy pear tree in your own backyard! It is so very hard to buy them at exactly the right time -- seems the ones I get (even at the Farmer's Market) are always either under-ripe or over-ripe never just right. It's a pretty tree too.
