OUR GRAPE HARVEST

I went out yesterday and harvested our grapes.  Didn't want the birds to get to them before I did.

Selfish...I know...

I also picked about 10 pears from our little tree.

Found out that California Pears don't ripen on the tree and they ripen from the inside out.

It's hard to tell if they are ready or not.  So they are on our kitchen counter in a cool dry place.  When they gently give by the stem end they are ripe.  Pears can then be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.

We will see how this all turns out.  I can't wait to taste some juicy Pears...

They look so perfect that you would think they are artificial!

your Harvest Box is a sight to see! full of yummyness, and that it came from your own yard is a reason to be thankful

Oh I envy you "Farmer Sue" and your harvest!! Store bought grapes and pears are not the same!!! Jill and Tristan are safely back in Oregon and I've recharged my batteries, so getting back to visiting my friends.

However, I do have our Annual Inspection next week, so busy cleaning the oven, getting the carpets cleaned, etc.

Not very interesting for a post...HaHa,

Stay cool, and don't work too hard.

What a treasure of fruit. Seeing this makes me miss my lemon and plum trees at my old house.

I would have picked the fruit harvest too, Sue, and not felt the lest bit quilty about not sharing with the birds who didn't help with the growing.
