I haven't been posting for a few days.
A heavy financial stress situation
and
The cough and cold were trying to get the best of me.
Things are better now and our older son Steve needed to go into San Francisco, CA
and invited us along for the day.
We were so happy to take the 2 hour drive and spend the day doing what we truly love to do.
Here is just a snippet of our day.
Our Granddaughter Amanda came along too. She had finished her college classes and will begin her student teaching in January...she definitely needed a break.
We went to an amazing store..museum...I really don't know what to call it...(Restoration Hardware)
Photos at a later date.
Then we went to The Presidio of San Francisco to eat our lunch bought from Freddies Sandwiches.
Freddies has been around since 1923 and makes the best San Francisco Sourdough Bread sandwiches on the planet! Hubby has been going there since he was a kid.
Me? Since about 1963!!
We explored some new facets of The Presidio, which is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and were able to see the new"park" built on top of the Doyle Drive entrance tunnels to the Golden Gate Bridge.
What an amazing job has been done to make a beautiful, clean and very accessible place to relax, hike and just enjoy the view.
The Top of the Tunnels view
After all of our hiking around we ended the day going across the Bridge and up into the Marin Headlands.
The late afternoon shadows gave a lovely look to the whole Bay Area from up above.
More to come for another day.

What a lovely trip you had! I am so glad you were well enough to go.
Extraordinary outing Sue!!!
Beautiful scenes
Hope you continue to heal from your sick feeling.
What a wonderful trip - your son is taller than his dad - ours too. Your granddaughter has beautiful red hair and is so cute. Glad you are feeling better. Nice views.
What a lovely day with loved ones. Years ago we visited San Francisco Every year. Never encountered Freddies, though. The first two years post stroke we still visited, but age and my disability turned our adventures to other destinations.
How nice to get out of the house and go to San Francisco. There's nothing like riding over the bridge.
Oh Sue, don't you just love "DAY TRIPS" to get away and enjoy God's wonderful world.
Miss you and Love you. Hopefully will get something posted soon.
What a wonderful getaway trip and even better that it was spent with your son and granddaughter. The sandwiches sound like they are quite delicious. I have only been to San Francisco once in my life, many years ago.
