FLASHBACK FRIDAY ON SATURDAY

I got to thinking about the country of Ukraine again today, enlight of all the terrible horror

and pain those beautiful people are enduring.

2 friends and I were in Uzbekistan in 2006 for 2 weeks.  That country was one of the "Stans" of the Soviet Union.

We saw what a mess of the country that super power had done..

It's a lot like what may happen to Ukraine if Puten has his way.

Here are a few photos from way back when.  I have so many but this is just a tiny slice of life there.

This is the market place and I don't think I would like to try on clothes this way.

I hid behind my friend to take this shot of the Intimate  Apparel  Department

Fresh herbs for sale

Their national dress is so colorful.
Fresh baked Naan for sale.

Such memories..

Our world aches and needs so much prayer.

my favorite photo is the lady in red with the naan... my heart aches for this country and for all the ones surrounding it.

Those are wonderful pictures. Yes, this old world is in turmoil.

I just cannot imagine what they are going through. We used to have a lady lived a couple house down. the best we could understand she had lived in Lithuania. She talked about running and hiding and seeing her husband get shot.

I like all these shots...I hope you show more.

Wonderful photos/memories. I got a chuckle out of that first one where you try on the clothes behind a blanket someone is holding up (or that's what it looks like).
So sad what's happening now.
