THANKFUL THURSDAY

We have so much to be thankful for, but today I have a very special thanksgiving.

Dave and I have attempted to cut down a tree in our backyard.

The tree has become the Host to the Box Elder Beetle.

Last spring and summer we couldn't even sit out on our patio because of the ugly critters.

No sprays or chemicals worked.

So it is time to have our tree removed.

Too costly for us to hire someone at this time so we have been "trimming " it bit by bit.

To make a long story short???

Our friend saw some photos my Hubby posted on FB and he is coming to completely remove the tree for us.

He has the equipment and experience to do it safely.

I am thanking the Lord for friendship and kindness.

Here are photos of us and our work.

Friday we will show the finished project.

Can you see the water droplet on the right hand side of this picture?

The tree was CRYING...

Water poured from every cut we made.

It lasted over night...

Dave called me his " LUMBER JILL"

I think this is what convinced our friend that we needed help...😀

More to come.

So sad to lose a tree, but a friend's help is precious!

the tree was crying , could it be or could have been a little wooden puppet :)
sad that it wouldn't get a chance to be?

When I read you and your husband were taking down the tree I was worried about that. I am glad you have a friend coming to help.

I am glad you are getting help with taking the tree down. It looks much too big to do it yourself . Good friends are priceless.

Oh my, you were both brave! But I am very glad that someone else is taking over now. Enough tree adventure for both of you. One of Phil's best friends, a retired doctor, was killed by a falling tree last year.

God blessed friend for helping you when he can! It makes me glad to know that there are people that will still help others without expecting to be paid. Yep you and that's all would make me come running if I could

It's so nice when friends help with something like this. Over Thanksgiving a few years back we lost a lot of branches on the property, big ones and one tree had fallen over and needed to be chainsawed up...which we don't own a chain saw. Neighbors came by and saw it and immedately cut it up for firewood which our other neighbor who needed the firewood (we don't have a fireplace)...came over and helped us clear all of it away, to his house and other houses. You make a good lumberjack. And oh...that poor tree,, crying... i actually think it was.

p.s. have you ever read "The Secret Life of Plants" an older book from i think around the 70's or 80s. I loved that book. It talked about how trees communicate, how they feel our intentions, etc.

Always sad to have to cut down a tree but I'm glad you will be free of the nasty insects. They can do so much damage. What did you do with all the branches? Do you have a fireplace? Or know someone who does?
