REDWOODS...FERNS...MEMORIES...

I was reading Sandra of Mad Snapper blog fame's post today.

It brought back memories of camping in the lush, earthy, dampish Redwood Forests

Of Northern California.

I treasure the feelings that are evoked from seeing the quiet stillness of the trees.

I also loved seeing the new growth of the fern fronds.

Be sure to enlarge these photos to see the photos at their best.

Can't you almost see this unfurling before your eyes?

Thanks for bringing back these delicious memories for me this morning.

I read Sandra's today and when I just read yours - hers popped in my mind.
Remember the book Where The Red Ferns grow - I never thought about if there were really red ferns.
Love, sandie

I eagerly wait to see those first new fern fronds uncurl. There is a special beauty about them.

the photo of the fern is so realistic it looks like it will move any second and unfurl. I would love to see these redwoods and the ferns. I have seen them in movies but not with my own eyes

In Canada we cook and eat those unfurling baby ferns, they are known as fiddleheads!

Loved the California redwoods and the closeup of the fern is such a dramatic reminder of the miracle of God's beautiful world.
