It was one year ago today that the house behind us burned.
Actually it burned two days in a row at the same time.
We always felt things were suspicious but it really doesn't matter.
The house has been unlivable for the entire year and is now finally getting some work done on it.
We see that tar paper for the stucco and the windows are finally in.
Lots of empty spaces still.

Sometimes it seems agonizingly long while the insurance companies hash things out. The house across the street from this house was that way for a year too. It had to be torn down and totally rebuilt.
I remember this!
glad they are finally getting to it, probably caused by insurance problems. they take our money but don't want to pay up when something happens.... fire is really scary to me
Repairs can take time.
It's nice that it is finally being worked on.
Two days in a row is weird - but glad it is getting fixed finally.
Many years ago the house next door to mine was on fire. I woke to hear the sirens and I saw flickering yellow light on my ceiling and I thought it was my house on fire.I jumped out of bed pretty fast!!! A man died in that fire. The house was torn down and there's an investment company building there now.
