WHEN FRIENDS COME TO VISIT
Dave and I again had a busy week.
We had guests for 5 days.
Ed and Joyce have been our friends for 47 years, and the last time we
were together was 15 years ago.
You know, there are some friends that time doesn't make a difference.
We could pick up right where we left off.
It was fun to play tourist and eat far too much.
We started off by visiting the Otow Orchards and talking with the owner Tosh.
He told us all about preserving and drying persimmons.
I love their vintage truck.
Notice the beam that doesn't hold up anything....
I guess that proves it's vintage too.
We visited the town of Auburn CA and learned all about the Chinese that came to this area
to build the Transcontinental Railroad.
This humongous statue was built in their honor.
You can get a feel for how large this is by noticing ED standing by it.
Just look at the size of his hand!
Of course we then had to go to Rainbow Orchards, Apple Hill, CA.
We all enjoyed the freshly made while we waited...
Hot Apple Cider Sugar Donuts....
Yummm...True diet destroyers!
There were plenty of pumpkins...
All shapes and sizes....
Loved them all
Warts and All...
The sun was so bright and warm.
We had to take our record shot there.
The whole time was wonderful.
Friends Forever.

What a wonderful visit!! You guys really know how to have fun. The statue is so large and impressive.
How lovely to have good friends come and stay for a while,, and act like tourists in your home town.
I have friends in Savannah that no matter how many years between visits we take up right where we left off. of course I talk to total strangers also. last week in WM my 0ne hour shopping trip turned to 2 hours because I chatted with 3 employees, 2 strangers and 1 friend I used to work with. bob thought I was kidnapped.
I really love the last shot of the two of you with the scarecrow.. that statue is amazing
looks like ya had a good time.
