TODAY'S ADVENTURE
Today we made a trek to the Gold Bug Mine in Placerville, CA.
We are trying to do a few different things while our son Mark and
Granddaughter Samantha are here visiting.
The ceiling was so low in spots that we definitely needed the hard hats.
A nice volunteer took our photo before we entered the mine.
We were able to take the self guided tour and listen to the info on Mark's cell phone.
Since the temperature was 104F. outside being in the mine felt super good and cool.
I liked this painting on the wall of the patio.
Mr. Studebaker ,of car fame, got his start by selling wheelbarrows to the miners.
He then funneled the money into the car business.
Hard Rock mining is such hard, dirty work.

What a fun trip. Sue you and Dave sure know how to show family and visitors a good time. Love the pictures...and you all look great in your hard hats. Our friend Tom came in today at LAX and we are enjoying a good visit. Your robot made me try 8 times... I must be pretty dense! HaHa
I didn't know about Studebaker! So this was a gold mine, but no longer being used...good pictures!
that is news to me about Studebaker selling wheel barrows.. I like little tibits of past times... you all look cute in your hats and I am betting that temp was nice. we notice the difference just stepping from bright sun underneath a tree, drops about 10 degrees.
That looks like fun! I have been in a few caves, but never an old gold mine.
Only admiration for miners. We lived in a mining town and while we were here, two men were killed underground. Such a dangerous job!
yes, the app is free, there are several accordion apps that are free to
Nice, you're being a tourist for a change! Were there any leftover gold nuggets lying about?
