Here we are at the start of the 19th ABC Wednesday.
Today's letter is " B ".
I again went way BACK into my archives.
The year is 1951 and I'm 8 years old.
I guess you now know my age......
A very good family friend asked me to BE her Junior BRIDESMAID.
Sorry for the poor quality of the photos.
Unfortunately they had yellowed terribly.
My dress was a soft creamy yellow.
My Mom did a fantastic sewing job on my outfit.
I'm especially proud of the workmanship BECAUSE she disliked sewing.
Do you see the scowl on my face?
I absolutely hated that BONNET !
I felt like a BABY.
Other than the headgear which I had to wear at the BRIDE'S request,
I felt like a princess.

I wish the photos were BETTER, BUT you can enjoy them anyway.

You were a beautiful. bridesmaid! And the outfit is pretty!
I was 4 years old when I was a bridesmaid. I was angry that I had to wear two dresses. on top of each other. I was not used to wear a pettycoat. I was not a great success as a bridesmaid. I thought I had to pull at the bridal veil.
Well now my eldest child will be 50 next year.Long time ago, isn't it?!

Your mom made a very sweet dress for you. You must've felt so grown up in it, regardless of the bonnet. I think it's cute. I actually wanted a bonnet like that when I was in my 20s. I must've been influenced by the Pride & Prejudice look.
