OUR ALMOND TREE IN BLOOM
I guess Spring is really trying to come early this year.
Buds are bursting out all over the tree.
The blossoms are so delicate.
As always, enlarging the photos will show more detail.
These are perfect! Are they straight out of the camera or did you do a bit of manipulation? And did you shoot in auto or are you playing with your settings? Great shots.
This looks a bit like a magnolia. I have never seen an almond tree. So you get all the fresh almonds you want? I think the buds are almost prettier than the blooms!
Flowering almond trees - I have seen them a long time ago in Peloponnese, Greece. I was looking at slopes of the hill near the ancient town Argos and tens of almond trees were flowering, it was the first and last time, when I have seen them. It was a beautiful view. Thank you for these memories by your lovely photos, Sue! Happy weekend to you!
Wow Sue, those flowers do seem early.. Down here we are still (supposed to be) in summer. But must admit we have had a pathetic summer this year with temperatures here in Hamilton about 6 or 7 degrees Celcius (10 derees F) lower than an average summer. So perhaps you will get an early spring as we may get and early autumn and winter - Dave
Right now, my enjoyment of spring buds and blossoms is strictly through the lenses of blogger friends' cameras. Thanks for this lovely view of spring in California!

Oh the memories of living up North among the Almond Orchards. So beautiful when in bloom.
