SNOW IN SUNNY CALIFORNIA
This is what we woke up to this morning. It began about 3 AM, giving us a winter wonderland.
I know to those of you in other parts of the country this is no big deal. For those of us in the Sacramento Valley it really is special. We just don't get snow.
Our backyard looks so pretty with the pines dusted with snow.
We are basically at sea level and haven't seen snow in many years.
The streets were clear but everyone's yard looks so pretty and white.
Its sad to see it melting but there is still a dusting more than 2 hours after I took these shots.
Enlarging the pictures will show more detail.

WOW, you actually had real snow, quite unusual for your part of the world! It looks so pretty, but don't mourn it's passing, it's awful stuff when you have to live with it for about 5 months, like we do here in The Great White North!
j'adore ça, j'aimerais tant qu'il neige pour noël sur Evry.
I love it, I'd love it to snow on Christmas Evry.
Like you, we hardly get any snow... if we do we usually have to wait till February. Nice pics :)
I can't believe you got a dusting of snow! :-)
Your yard looks beautiful!!
Wow! You got snow before we did! Love that snowy fir pic.
Wow! You've got way more than we did!!!!
You're welcome to my share this year! Lovely shots, Sue. :)
great captures. that's the beauty of nature
Okay! So you stole our snow:) On the north shore of Lake Ontario in beautiful downtown Pickering, Ontario we just went through the month of November with no snow. That was a record.
Thanks for going out and getting photos to share with us.
Really "cool" shots... This must be one of those "one in a hundred year events" or something -- Sacramento is known for a lot of things, but snow definitely isn't one of them!
No snow on Mt. Tamalpais, but I did notice a lot of snow yesterday over on Mt. Diablo...
thanks for sharing your snow and ice crystals. we get none at all in south florida. the trees in the first photo are beautiful and would be even without the dusting of snow.
How interesting! It would be normal for us over here to have some snow in this time of the year but there is nothing but fog.
Your photos are really beautiful.
I am so glad you got some pretty fluffy white snow : ) It is always nice the first time here in Pennsylvania. And then after that... not so much!
I especially liked the third photo Sue of snow on the connifer tree. It would make a good Christmas card photo I think? - Dave
Hi Sue
I see you folks got some snow as well. My mom got a ton of snow. It was fun though..:) Snow just makes everything look sooo beautiful. :) Well at least I think so.. :)
Aloha, Renee :)
