ABC WEDNESDAY LETTER " J "

Here we are at almost the middle of the alphabet and the letter is " J ".
" J "
is for Jumbo, Juicy Pomegranates. Yesterday we picked the first pomegranates of the season from our tree.
Wonderful Hubby peeled 10 of them and now we have just the Juicy seeds to enjoy.

I am feeling a bit under the weather so I am posting this early and will jump back in bed for a while.

To see what others have posted for the letter J click on Mrs Nesbitts link on my sidebar.
As always, enlarging the picture will show more detail.

First time I ever saw a pomegranate was in NYC in 1977. I didn't know what it was, let alone how to eat it. I found them to be quite delicious but don't see them often.

Have lots and lots of those jumbo, juicy pomegranates as they are full of antioxidants and Vit. C to get you back up to speed.

here in Greece, pomegranate is the symbol of richness. so if you have this kind of tree with such jumbo pomegranate, you must feel very lucky

You really nailed that photo -- it really DOES look juicy...
I guess I'm going to have to check on this, but those Pomegranates look a whole lot like the Persimmons I know... I wonder what the difference is... In either case, digging the seeds out seems like way too much work to me -- guess that's why you keep that Hubby of yours around...

I LOVE pomegranates! I have one in the fruit bowl right now, too, so I'm tempted to just go and rip it open!

How lucky you are to have your own pomegranate tree! They are supposed to be so full of antioxidants--hope you drink lots of their juice and are feeling better soon.

Would you believe it that I posted a pomegranate yesterday? (Btw, Carol of Paris Breakfast says their seeds keep her healthy through the winter season!)

Speedy recovery to you!
