"G" LETTER WEDNESDAY

GILA MONSTER for G letter Wednesday.
Took this picture through a pretty dirty window at the Sacramento Zoo.
Don't think I would want to meet this guy anytime soon.

Yikes...not something I'd like to be very close to! Nice shot...

Bit of an ugly old devil. Nice shot though.

I know it is a God’s creature as well, yet I too would not wish to meet it in private. :-)

See what cigarettes and sun can do to your skin?

Lovely shot considering you took it through a window, and the black & white is great

What a beast, looks great in mono. It is always difficult taking photographs of animals in these situations.

I too have joined ABC Wednesday

These dragons are phenomenal creatures. That skin, those eyes, those claws...best photographed from behind a window! :)

What an interesting post: b & w and mono gives so much detail to this wonderful animal.

If you were a princess, your knight in white shining armour might save you from this fierce dragon-like creature.

Now that looks like something Chad would keep in his apartment! It would get along great with the snake :)

Nice shot. the glass didn't hurt it at all.

I don't know about the giant dragons, but our pet iguano Luigi was the sweetest boy you can imagine. He loved to listen to my voice and looked me firmly in the eye while doing so. I miss him. We had to leave him behind in the USA, gave him away to a biology teacher who handles reptilians at an animal clinic. I comfort myself that he now has probably an even better home than before. Still ....

Thanks for letting me know about the
dreaded red X ...the sign outside the pub read ,

The black and white lets one appreciate all the different textures on his skin. Good shot.

G'day from Australia,

Followed your link from Annie's Little Rock daily photo blog. NICE work - I'm also a photographer and a novelist.

Great to see you're taking part in the Wednesday Letter posts.

Cheers

Looks good in B&W. They always remind of dinosaurs. The glass didn't hurt the photo here but I find using a polarizing filter can help eliminate glare when shooting through glass.

I'm with you! I lived in Arizona for 11 years but never ran across one in the wild.

Selamat Siang from Bahrain!

I like the shot, and I ilke the other letter picture :P but something make me wondering;

"how do you get the name of GILA for this cute monster? cos I am an indonesian and GILA means GRAZY LOL "

JAM said...

Definitely big enough to earn the "monster" part of it's name.
