"G" LETTER WEDNESDAY
GILA MONSTER for G letter Wednesday. Took this picture through a pretty dirty window at the Sacramento Zoo. Don't think I would want to meet this guy anytime soon.
Hi:) No yes ok for you I'll make an exeption; I like the Black and white capturing, and thats a close up, Not the animal no, soYES for the photo NO, for the animal.
And Photowannabe, ...Thanks for voting on my blog (bridge in Naarden colour or sepia- Netherlands) I publiced the score today and Quess what? Today you can enlarge the photo by doubleclick on it ! Thanks :)
I don't know about the giant dragons, but our pet iguano Luigi was the sweetest boy you can imagine. He loved to listen to my voice and looked me firmly in the eye while doing so. I miss him. We had to leave him behind in the USA, gave him away to a biology teacher who handles reptilians at an animal clinic. I comfort myself that he now has probably an even better home than before. Still ....
Looks good in B&W. They always remind of dinosaurs. The glass didn't hurt the photo here but I find using a polarizing filter can help eliminate glare when shooting through glass.
I have a passion for photography. I use my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, so come with me and see Rocklin, California and points North, South, East and West.

I first thought it was your pet. ;-)
le b&w lui va bien, retour dans le passé, beau portrait
the b&w suits him well, return in the past, beautiful portrait
Yikes...not something I'd like to be very close to! Nice shot...
Bit of an ugly old devil. Nice shot though.
I know it is a God’s creature as well, yet I too would not wish to meet it in private. :-)
See what cigarettes and sun can do to your skin?
Lovely shot considering you took it through a window, and the black & white is great
What a beast, looks great in mono. It is always difficult taking photographs of animals in these situations.
I too have joined ABC Wednesday
These dragons are phenomenal creatures. That skin, those eyes, those claws...best photographed from behind a window! :)
What an interesting post: b & w and mono gives so much detail to this wonderful animal.
If you were a princess, your knight in white shining armour might save you from this fierce dragon-like creature.
eek...me neither!
Glad there's a window too.
They are such fascinating creatures.

Bye JoAnn :)
Cuddly little fellow, isn't he?
Now that looks like something Chad would keep in his apartment! It would get along great with the snake :)
Nice shot. the glass didn't hurt it at all.
I like it in BnW...somehow makes it appear less creepy!!!
Found you...I'd got your link wrong in my copy of the blogroll; all correct now!!! Great photo...he's sort of beautiful in an ugly way :o)

Thanks for letting me know about the
dreaded red X ...the sign outside the pub read ,
"As Molly once said....It's more fun to eat in a pub than to drink in a restaurant"
:)
Wow, didn't expect to see that! Cool subject.
The black and white lets one appreciate all the different textures on his skin. Good shot.

G'day from Australia,
Followed your link from Annie's Little Rock daily photo blog. NICE work - I'm also a photographer and a novelist.
Great to see you're taking part in the Wednesday Letter posts.
Cheers

I'm with you! I lived in Arizona for 11 years but never ran across one in the wild.
Selamat Siang from Bahrain!
I like the shot, and I ilke the other letter picture :P but something make me wondering;
"how do you get the name of GILA for this cute monster? cos I am an indonesian and GILA means GRAZY LOL "
Definitely big enough to earn the "monster" part of it's name.
Cool one, Sue.
Wow! Love the grey and white!
