WATER'S EDGE

This lovely bronze sculpture was out in front of the Giraffe paddock at the Sacramento Zoo. Its called Water's Edge and is about 18 inches tall. I think its a pretty good depiction of Giraffes at the watering hole. Sorry I couldn't find the sculpture's name.

That's a wonderful sculpture. I like how they even did the water.

I'm glad you told us that it's 18" high, otherwise it would be hard to gauge the scale... could be life size! Are there sculptures all through the Zoo?

That is such a wonderful and graceful sculpture.

I never would have guessed it to be only 18" high. Quite amazing. The water is especially interesting. Sue, thanks for sharing your perspective on life. Really enjoy your photos.

This is such a lovely sculpture...a very real depiction of how they have to spread their legs to drink.

very pretty..

just this morning i was reading an article in NY Times, debating the importance of arts education in schools that discussed how schools are cutting down their spending on arts education as it's deemed rather impractical to spend money on arts courses...they should have a look at all these ways one beautifies one's surroundings through various forms of arts to realize that not everything has to have a practical value to be valuable :)

I would have guessed that they were much bigger. They are quite lovely.

That is so neat. It's hard to believe that it's only 18 inches tall. A wonderful sculpture.

This is a beautiful sculpture. I've been without internet access for almost 3 weeks, and there's so much to catch up with! And what a coincidence that I've taken my girls to the zoo for the first time last weekend!

Great sculpture.. Giraffe's are my favorite zoo animal.. Not that I go to the zoo much.. I think the last time I went was about 10 years ago on a school field trip for my daughter.. Sure does look bigger than only 18 inches.. Very cool.. :)

It tickles me the way the front giraffe spreads its legs to bend over. Pretty piece.

I enjoy very much visiting your side of the continent from the comfort of my office and seeing it through your lens, thanks for sharing.

How was ice cream day at the zoo, Sue? I bet you guys had a "blast," as my Dad would say. I haven't been to the Sac Zoo in probably over 10 years.
How are things otherwise?

very nice sculpture .. the pose has exactness too i.e. that is their stance of drinking water.
