Monday Meanderings
First of all I have to share that today is our Firstborn Granddaughter's birthday.
She is a beautiful 32 years old !
Lauren has the tenderest and caring heart. She is a determined woman that knows what she wants. She is a wonderful wife and lover of the Lord.
I am so glad and thankful that she is our Granddaughter.
I just came across this photo of her at about 11years old, thought I had to include it too.

On another note ...
People are always teasing hubby Dave about never getting rid of anything.
Well yesterday he proved that it was worth it to save weird things.
We here in the central valley of California are being warned that it's going to be a hard and very rainy winter. We felt we should get our pumps ready for the flooding that happens every year in our backyard.
Dave rummaged around and found some poles from a now defunked hammock and chains, nuts and bolts. He sat out in the yard and Jerry-Rigged a tripod to attach the hose and pump to.
I tried to clear the ever present weeds to make a spot for the pump. What a job.
So now we can say "Come on rain, we are ready for you".
WE may be Old and Wobbly but we get things done. It may take all day but it does get done!!!
That's about it for today.

It sounds like you are getting ready for winter too. What a clever idea to make a pump for the flooding they may occur this winter. I didn't know that you are going to have a rainy season there. All my siblings live in the area. A BIG Happy Birthday to your granddaughter, Lauren. She is beautiful, and her smile is radiant. I love the picture of her at 11 years old. She looks like a happy child just playing and exploring. Have a good last week of October.
