MONDAY MEANDERINGS

 Monday Meanderings ...

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  Even though the temps. are getting hotter it was still better than some for us.

The great news is that we sold a piece of Disney memorabilia for a good price.

The buyer is happy and so are we !!!

Saturday we finally sold something on Facebook Marketplace.  It had been on there for such a long time.  It seems that all of a sudden everybody wanted it and we had over 20 inquiries that said they would come the following day to pick it up... then all we heard from them was "Crickets" !!

I said in my prayers, Lord maybe you were protecting us from the wrong people or transactions.  If it is meant to be sold please send the right one to us.

A few hours later a lady texted us and asked if the item was still available.  She wanted it and Cash wasn't a problem.  She then asked when it would be convenient for her to come by and pick it up.  She also gave me her personal phone number.

We struck a deal and bright and early Saturday morning a perky woman bounced out of her friends truck and handed me the cash even before she really looked at the item.  She is local and we had a great chat about life in the community.  So now we have cash in hand and boxes out of the garage and have made a new friend.

Our son Steve is over here today to do a few "Honey Do" type projects for us.

We are so grateful for his willingness and muscles to do things that are no longer easy for us to do.  Sometimes it pays to just swallow pride and ask for help.             It's the New Normal for us ...

Believe it or not ..I didn't take a single photo of today and all the work that was done.  Too much nice time visiting, working and Granddaughter Amanda came over and brought us donuts.  Yumm...

She also picked up a few things to use for her baby shower on Saturday.

Its been a good and very hot day.  Destined to be 102F by 5pm.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

Ha! Those are funny. I'm sorry you're dealing with that heat.
Hooray for the sale!
We have a FB free page and we've put a few things on it and had the same issues as you did. People say they are coming to get the item and then nothing. And I'm thinking - this is free, get over here!
Anyway, I'm glad you got it sold. And what a blessing to have a son who comes to help out.

Our city encourages us when we sell stuff from the internet to meet in the police parking lot as to not give out our addresses.
Has it been hot?? I hardly noticed since I've been inside all day. Tomorrow I'll be out in it. But it really isn't that bad. I'm thankful I don't have to work in it!

It's wonderful you sold the item that you wanted and got a little cash for it.
People really love that Disney stuff. So good of your son to come over and help with some of the projects you needed help with. And sweet of your granddaughter to bring you donuts. There's nothing like donuts.....and we all have our favorite ones. Have a good August week, and try to stay cool from the heat you are having.

I understand the heat! It is so nice to have a son to help you - I have a son, but he lives far away. We sure could use him now. LOL

That’s awesome that you sold that item. Glad you have someone to ask for help that is willing to lend a hand . That is such a blessing.

Sue...I can so relate to both of those funnies. Yay!! God had just the right person to make this purchase from y'all. Such a sweet blessing came from this sell...not only the cash, but in decluttering your garage of one more item and meeting a new friend. Triple blessings! So thankful that Steve was able to come over and help. I've been having to ask for help from our son-in-laws since Sam has been ill. Stay hydrated and out of that hot sun... Thinking of you both each day...🌸

Just loved your post today, and how the Lord is answering prayer, and you were able to sell and get CASH. Yes, we are so grateful for our kids who do SO much for us. I will email you later with updates on me and my dearest. Love you.

Oh, I love those last two photos! So funny! And hooray on the sale of the Disney item...yes, God's timing is always perfect!! Seems like we should know that by now, but we're only human after all! So happy it worked out so well. And how wonderful to have your son helping you with projects around the house/yard. That is a true blessing. I know we take advantage of our sons' younger muscles quite often, and we are SO thankful they are close by and willing and able. What a blessing! Try to stay cool so you don't look like that old dehydrated person or that popped corn! LOL>

What happy happenstances, Sue! I do love your prayer; and how quickly He showed out on y'all's behalf. I'm a little reluctant to jump in the FB Marketplace pool ... but really need to put on my big girl panties and choose a Safe Spot away from our home.
Those last two memes are a panic!

Oh, that last photo on dehydration cracked me up!!! I am so glad it sold and it went well. I use to sell on FB marketplace when I was on FB a long time ago. It was always a hit or miss. Sometimes I did really well and sometimes it was a hassle. I am glad the Lord opened up the right door!!

Great news on the sale, Sue, and amazint that so many people wanted it all at once. Cash in hand and a pick-up was also very handy, plus you have made a new friend! I have only sold on ebay and had some successes, but now waiting for some playbills to move...maybe in time.

The Lord must have been protecting that item just for that lady who came to pick it up.
That meme with the two ears of corn is too funny, haha.
