Monday Meanderings:
This is definitely the way my weekend went ...
Celebrating the 4th of July was a bit different for us this year.
We had received an announcement that there was going to be a neighborhood parade. It was going to march down our street.Great we thought, we can just sit out on our driveway and cheer everyone on.
Sorry to say that it was quite underwhelming.
It began earlier than we thought and we missed the first band of marchers. All in all there were several kids on bikes, Moms pushing strollers and a golf cart really decorated beautifully but it went by before we got settled.
Maybe next year it will be more organized and I have to admit I loved waving at the kiddos and chatting with one lady riding by on her 3 wheeled bike.
I'm so sad that I didn't get photos of her and the cart.
Here are a few of the stragglers ...
The weather was perfect for an early morning parade.

It does look like kind of a sad parade; what a letdown. I love your little photo of the Highland Cow, they are all the rage now!
Oh well, maybe next year. It’s a great idea, though. I’ve never been to a neighborhood parade before, but I do remember as a kid in Pacifica, watching the 4th of July parade down Lindamar Blvd. My parents took home movies of it—there were horses, a band playing on the back of a truck, hula dancers, and Miss Pacifica. I'll have to see if I can upload that home movie.
It was a great idea and hopefully more people will join in next year!
As sparse as your parade was, it beats the fact that we had nothing in our city.
Too bad you missed most of it. The bands are my favorite part. I'm looking forward to when the fair parade goes by my house
I'm sorry y'all missed the Main Event. The littles, however, always steal my heart ... they're so proud to be a part. I'm sure it means a lot to everyone having an audience!
