Thankful Thursday and The Rest of the Story.
Thanks for all the delightful remarks on my Wordless Wednesday post.
The photo was taken a few years ago at the Gold Rush Celebration in Old Sacramento.
That part of town was turned into the time of stage coaches and dirt streets with people in period costume. Dave and I wandered down some side streets and the perfect photo opportunity was right before our eyes. This little guy was quite masterful using his bull whip. I think he loved showing off for us.
California has such a rich history. It has been fun living in the Sacramento area and seeing Living History.
Thankful for the spritzes of rain over night and how it refreshed the earth.
Thankful for Dave's progress towards mobility and full health again. Thankful for the Home Health Care people that are coming and the great rapport they have with us, especially the physical therapist, Nick.
Always be Grateful
Always be Kind ...

That sounds like it was such a fun thing to see and participate in - and now you are reliving it!
Thankful for the report on Dave - prayers continue for you both.
I so enjoyed learning about the history of this photo. Not sure if I ever told you that I have family who lives in Sacramento. Two of my dads brothers moved to California and they ended up in Sacramento..I would love to know the history of why they left Texas and went out West. Even though they have passed, I have many first cousins who live there. Sad thing is...we do not even know each other. Continued prayers for Dave and of course for you as well Sue. it takes a lot out of us when we are caretakers. Love you.
That is a wonderful photo! It sounds like a wonderful day and then finding this young man. Glad that Dave continues to improve. Thank you for linking up and have a great weekend.
Oh, thank you for the back story on the picture. I had it figured right, just didn't know the when and where! Glad that Dave is improving and that he is getting some home health care, that I am sure gives you a little break too. Thank you for sharing these memories and places with us. I always look forward to what's coming next!!
You always seem happen on the greatest photo ops! Like a prize-winning photo journalist! My eyes need opened to realize what's all around -- but I don't suppose one can force those sorts of things.
Hurray for Dave's improvements!
Enjoyed the history of the photo - and very happy Dave is getting stronger.
I bet that little guy was so much fun to watch. Happy to hear that Dave is improving every day
Wonderful about Dave's healing progress.
Oh, I really miss visiting Old Sac. I've been there numerous times. California does have a rich history with so many things. And Old Sac really displays some of that history. I used to work down there for the State in my early years. I'm so glad to meet a fellow Californian who knows this area well. It's wonderful you got some rain - that's always a good thing for us. Have a pleasant weekend. : )
That's nice that you attended that a few years ago. I'm happy to hear that Dave is continuing to do better. Hope you are having a nice weekend.
That is a great shot of the youngster. Glad to hear your Dave is improving. I love learning about the history of places where I live , have lived and have visited.
