MONDAY ... MONDAY

 Monday ... Monday ...

I do hope everyone had a nice weekend.  I know Mother's Day is difficult for some and I pray that you still found peace and calm in the day.

We are still hunkered down at home.  Hopefully Dave is getting his "sea legs " back again so he can be mobile and going about his business.

We stayed home and did our celebrating for Mother's Day with phone calls and texts from family and friends. I even ordered pizza for our dinner.  We haven't done that in months.  I sure didn't want to cook !!!  Especially after the Mother's Day Gift I got.

Yesterday afternoon I put a load of clothes in my washer and went about my business.

When the cycle was finished I went into our laundry room to put said clothes in the dryer.

Here's what greeted me ...

I had bought a brand new 4 gallon jug of Oxi Clean detergent just the day before.

How the jug fell off the washer and onto the floor I can't quite figure out.

I lost 3/4 of the very thick and slippery soap and the lid to the container.

Got out some old beach towels and mopped it up.  What a job !  First I had to remove clothes I had hanging on the rack which the soap was covering the bottom rack.  Ugh what a mess.  It took me a very long time to clean it up and I didn't want to use any water or our whole house would have been under siege.  I guess we could have said we really Live in a Bubble ... 😏

It was so frustrating for Dave too because he couldn't help me.

An hour and a half later here was the finished project...

That sure was the hard way to have a clean floor.

The soap was so strong smelling.  Thank goodness we have a ceiling fan in there.

Now all the towels I used are out draped over the garbage cans and rungs of the outside ladder.  I don't know if I will ever get all the concentrated soap out of them.

Here's the "Bad Guy" .

What a way to celebrate Mother's Day !!!

At least it gave me some Blog Fodder 😁

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

Sorry that happened on Mother’s Day. The floor really looks clean though.

Oh Sue, you are so funny. I love that you can laugh when facing that kind of desaster. Wow, that is really a clean floor. I don't buy in bulk anymore, as I just can't lift heavy up and down stairs to the laundry room, so I use pods. Praying that soon Dave will be well enough to lend a hand.

OMG, I'm so sorry that happened to you. What a mess. I would not like cleaning that up. Looks like you did a great job. At first I thought something was wrong with the washing machine. Glad your machine is okay.

That was not a very nice Mother’s Day for you, but you sure do have one memorable story to tell, Sue.

Oh no! I feel your pain as I had that happen to me about a year ago. Soap is so hard to clean up! I use the pods now - no mess if I drop them. :)
I'm glad you ordered pizza and didn't cook after that.

OH MY GOODNESS! THAT WAS ROUGH. I might know how it happened because I had a similar, but not as bad experience - you said it was on top of the washer - were you using it - it could have vibrated it off.

Probably what happened but the thing was full (4 gallons worth) really heavy whatever ... it found its way to the floor!

Oh no, nothing worse than trying to clean up a soap spill. I can't blame you for not wanting to cook after having to clean that up.

Oh no! What a mess! I had a similar accident with a gallon of bleach last year, and it splashed all over me because I was there when it happened. But like you, I had clean floors for a while, and a lot of bleached towels! Probably the vibrations of your washing machine caused the container to "dance" to the edge. You probably need to find a different place to store the detergent, away from "good good good good vibrations...." I'm glad you ordered pizza. That's a blessing to have that option on days like that! (((HUGS))) and Happy CLEAN Mother's Day to you!

Oh my...what a way to celebrate Mother's Day....You deserve another full day for yourself just to rest. This is what I use in my washing and it really is very thick..I know this was a big job to get cleaned up. One positive thing is...you have the cleanest floors around. I know Dave felt so bad that he could't help you. I do hope and pray that he is improving and will be back to himself sooner than later. Hopefully you are not too sore from all the work you did. Glad the pizza place was able to deliver a good pizza to you on Mother's Day.. Better days are ahead. Great big fluffy hugs to you Sue..

Oh no, what a time you had cleaning up the Oxi Clean on the floor. It was a good idea not to use any water in the process. Things like that happen from time to time, and we wonder how it all took place, but when it's finished, we take a deep breath and have a sigh of relief. I'm glad you had a pizza ordered for your Mother's Day to enjoy. Pizza always makes things better, and guess what? I had pizza too! So good to hear your husband is getting his sea legs back again. Have a blessed week, and hopefully no more unpleasant surprises to clean up. ; )

Thank you for the kind thoughts and prayers, Sue. I will write a blog post soon.

Oh my, Sue. What a surprise for Mother’s Day! So disheartening! I am glad you conquered that mess as you did. Well done!

OH wow - what a huge job that was to clean all that up. Wonder what made the bottle fall. Thankfully it is behind you now!

Oooooh noooo! I could probably observe that Photo #2 could be used as a soap commercial, but it's probably too early for humor.
I'm just glad you didn't slip and fall! Hopefully the taste of pizza helped your mood? Cross fingers, maybe you'll get a good rain to rinse those towels.

Oh my goodness. What a mess. Glad you got it sorted. Was it from the vibration that caused the fall maybe? I've had that happen stuff vibrate off. Glad you got it sorted and fun that you ordered pizza. Cheers, Ivy.

I have never seen such a mess of detergent like this, and am afraid to say I have not because it might jinx me. I don't know how you managed to get it all up. not a great mothers day gift. and the cost, detergent cost as much as gas now.. wonder wear the lid went. I am trying to drop my my friends one at a time, picking from the posts I have missed when I see a title that interest me. Wow
