" KIDS" TO THE RESCUE

Our kids to the rescue ...

We are so thankful to have some of our family living close to us.

They certainly came to our rescue last night.

After work, on an 88F. evening, Steve pulled out our lawn mower and went at it!!

The weeds had grown to almost shin size spikey-ness.  Since we have been out of commission all of our hard work clearing rubble had literally gone to seed.

Through son Steve's sweat and muscle we have what appears to be real grass under all of the mess.  It looks like a park.

When daughter in law got off work , she came bringing dinner and we had a wonderful time.  Then she and Steve went out and Sigrid got the weed whacker going and mowed down more of the ugly weeds.

Can you say blessed?  We are so grateful for their hard work and hopefully Dave will be up and back in action soon.

I had forgotten to take before photos so this is how it was looking after Steve made the rounds.

We do have the best kids.
Our sons and their wives do so much for us that words can't begin to express our gratitude.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

How wonderful!!! I know you are tickled pink!! Bravo to your kids for jumping in to save the day and 'cut the hay'. LOL. I'm so happy for you!!! And supper too??? That's really super great!!!! Our big lawn mower broke and appears to be unfixable (unless we want to pay more money than it's worth). We still have a little push mower, but there's too much work just for that. So we have had to hire someone to mow for us now. He is VERY reasonable and gives us a real break. Our kids would do it, but they don't have equipment that they can bring here to do it. In times like these, we think about living in a place with no lawn, but I don't think I could stand it for long. (nor could I survive packing for another move!) So happy for you...Blessings and joy!

That is so nice of your sons. I'm glad they pitched in to help. For goodness sakes you have a huge lot. It does look like a park. That is a lot if yard to contend with.

About 5-6 years ago during the shutdown, we started replacing our lawn areas and flower beds with decorative rocks. We knew it,would be difficult for us and we're still chipping away at it. Except for that hill with all that vinca my dad planted. There's nothing we can do. Their invasive web like root system is impossible to get rid of short of dynmite.

Yeah that cooler weather didn't make it.

Oh Sue, how wonderful and sweet of your kids to do all that work in the back yard and give you the beautiful view you have without the weeds. Yard work is very hard and back breaking so you are so right....What a blessing. We are so thankful for our kids to. We couldn't live the life we have without them. Thank you for your beautiful prayer for Donna. God answered, and I posted today that blessing and answer. Love and Hugs.

It is a blessing to have helpful kids. We are so lucky to have one living fairly close to us. 30 min drive. Yours have done a great job in your big yard.

what a blessing that was to have them come over and help. Yard work is one of those things I just can't manage to do myself anymore. I ended up having to hire someone to mow for me.

Your son did a great job mowing the lawn. All your family was so caring to pitch in and help while your husband is getting better. It seems like we just do our yards, and then they grow back so quickly. My grass is already starting to grow back. You have a big area, so that must have been tiring. I can't believe you are in the high 80's already. It's so nice to hear that everyone pitched in with the yard work. : ) How wonderful that is.

Sounds like you need a goat. My brother got a little pygmy goat for his big property to keep the vines, brush, weeds in check. He's more like a pet, plays with the dogs, very friendly. 🐐

This was a heartwarming post to read, Sue, the hard work of your family really showed in the photos you did post. I know that you and Dave are relieved to have had your yard looking so good.

Oh what a wonderful blessing your sons are. I know you both are so thankful for all that they do for you. The yard looks so nice and fresh. sending Prayers for Dave as he continues to heal and for you to Sue, as you continue to care for him. I would be in a pickle right now if we didn't have a guy who mows our yard. It's hard work and especially during the Spring when everything (WEEDS) continue to grow like crazy. Also sending love and hugs to you and Dave..
