I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.
We did ... very low keyed and just what the doctor ordered ...
Dave and I were again invited to our friends home for a great afternoon at their "Ranch-ette".
Beth and Wes were among the best friends of our son and daughter in law when we attended Bethel Christian Church in San Francisco. This was when they were in High School. Dave and I were close friends with their parents too. That goes back to more than 40++ years. Many of us moved up here to the Greater Sacramento area and have kept in close contact throughout these many years.
Now its the "kids" inviting us oldies plus their friends to enjoy time together. Marriages, new babies and the chance to renew friendships are the memory makers for all of us.
I took NO photos this year. The way we were scattered around their property just didn't make it feasible. But, we ate GOOD ! Planned potlucks are the best. It makes it easier for all of us.
The weather was perfect . In the mid 70'sF. No bugs and plenty of birds twittering and their horses, goats and chickens added to the delicious sounds of nature. I loved sitting outside and just drinking it all in.
No one did much moving except for our mouths 😊....
All I can say is AHhhhh ...
The next few photos are from 2 years ago, same place and same activities ...
Chatting and Eating !!
This is Beth and Wes's property. It is magical being so close to suburbia.

I'm so glad you had such a perfect day!! These Iris are gorgeous! I can't tell if the red one is also an Iris, I have never seen one that color.
Low key is so good! And I love that you got to go and spend time with them and have this beautiful day!
Oh, I love that you had such a wonderful day with your friends...and such a beautiful place as well! What a blessing! Looks like the perfect setting. God knows what we need and who we need in our lives. So happy for you.
Spending Easter at a ranch is my kind of day. And spending time with friends for over 40 years is special. I will see a group of my friends soon who I've known over 50 years, some of them in grade school. There were even chickens on her ranch, how delightful. Potlucks are the best. No fuss and plenty of food. You know, I've always wanted to live on a ranch. What a wonderful day for you spending Easter day on this ranch. And those red and white flowers are beautiful.
what a perfect day in a little piece of heaven on earth with friends and family. the perfect day.. Our Easter weather was stunning, and everytime I went outside there were more birds than I have seen in years, breezes and blue and white sky. it was a stunning day. My new friend Ruby and Her husband went to the beach and she said it was perfect. In the past we would have done that. go early before anyone is up
Oh Sue, what a perfect way to spend Easter. Nothing better than the open air, the sounds and sights of a ranch and all that good food. So glad you and Dave could enjoy it. Now I'm looking forward to my Birthday and Mother's Day when we can finally have another family gathering! Can't believe I've almost made it to 85.
Glad you had a good day. Low key is always my favorite way to spend a holiday
I am glad you had a nice Easter. I love low key myself. Looked like a nice time.
It sounds like a perfect day.
Your gathering sounds perfect! I love how, even when generational 'roles' skew, the love remains.
Sue, how wonderful to read that your Easter celebration was spent with friends and as for not taking photos, you did take them in your memories of the day.
Loved hearing about your Easter! Sounds perfect to me....
What a wonderful way to celebrate together! Love the place...
And yes, our Sloane is now going on to 4!!! Where is the time going??
Happy week sweet friend!
hugs
Donna
It is wonderful how you all have stayed in contact and become like family. Looks like a beautiful place to host and celebrate any dinner or pot luck get-together. This is a huge blessing for you and Dave and I love how you described being able to sit there and drink in all the beauty and friends around you. As we get older, it's only deserving that we get to sit back and relax. You are such a blessing to me Sue.
Sounds perfect. How wonderful to be invited over for dinner and that the kids are handling it now.
This is wonderful :)
Hi Sue. This sounds like a wonderful time. I love that you stayed connected all these years AND the food was GOOD. Win, win, win.
