THURSDAY THANKFULNESS

 The weeks are flying by.

We are again at Thankful Thursday.

Where do I start?  I have been reminiscing a lot lately.  I guess the older I get the more I am prone to do this.

I am so thankful for all the serving and travel Dave and I were able to do.

Thinking back to 2009 and our time in Kenya.  It was such a blessed time for us.

Veronica is such a beautiful Masai woman.  I will never forget her.

Living with the wonderful Masai people on the Riff Valley floor was a once in a life time experience.

Being a part of these precious children's lives really sunk down deep into my heart.

I am thankful today for the beauty in our own yard.
Camellias brighten everything in the dead of winter.

I am definitely thankful for a silly sense of humor.

Thankful Words for Today

Always be Grateful

Always be Kind

I enjoyed seeing your photos of yours and Daves time serving in Africa. What a wonderful, experience this must have been.. Anytime you want to share more photos...you can count on me enjoying them. There are two places I've always wanted to go to, one being Africa and the other Ireland. I am scheduled to go to Ireland with my girls in early March..of course, this depends on Sam. I'm still keeping the doors open to get to go to Africa some day. It is a lot of fun to reminisce about great memories... Thanks for sharing the memories...I enjoyed..hugs..

What an amazing time in Africa. I can only imagine the memories you have of this.
Your camellias are so pretty. We just have snow that is melting right now.

Oh Sue, I think I would have loved being a missionary but I was home raising kids and now I just wouldn't have the strength. Our pastor was born and raised in Bongolo, Gabon. He's a 3rd generation missionary. His dad's parents were killed by enemy tribe. Our pastors father is a missionary surgeon at a hospital there in Bongolo. I have massive RESPECT for you and Dave giving up first world comforts to serve. When my oldest was in high school, him and I went to Mexico on a missions trip but it was only for 1 week.
It's one of those things, I so wished I could have done, but being the sole provider of my family, I couldn't just do it and not consider my children. Oh well.
Love your pictures of your missions, interacting with the people and especially those sweet dear children. I'm sure those are some of your favorite memories and I'm thankful for people like you who serve. Just imagine the lives you touched - you'll see them again. Oh what a precious reunion that will be! God bless, you ❤

Love your HUMEROUS pun! Your yard is like a miracle. Paradise in pink. Our previous pastor lived close to the Masai for ten years, ministering to them and helping them. He told many amazing stories in his sermons.

I've no doubt you also left fingerprints on those Masai's children's hearts! Where would we be without a great sense of humerous!

I always enjoy reading your posts about your mission trips.
We never had short term mission trip opportunities in the churches I attended back in the day.

It was amazing that you served in Kenya. You have done more that most people have done for sure. Great memories.
The Camellias are gorgeous!

Neat pictures, that must have been amazing. Good thing you went back then when the world was relatively quiet. Now it would be a very bad idea, especially with the combination of Neocons and Zionists destabilizing 3rd world countries in order to steal their resources.
