Thankful Thursday
First of all, thanks for all of the questions on my last blog post.
I guess you are realizing that I really like quirky things and am always on the lookout for them.
When my Hubby and I were roaming around in an old antique shop in the Foothills near our home we saw all sorts of interesting things.
The Cow Milk container is actually medicine for livestock. The side of the box gives a bit of information. I thought since Wednesday was Wordless it would be fun to see everyone's reaction to the display.
Now on to Thankful Thursday ...
Yesterday our son Steve was in a car accident. He's okay so far ...
He was going 35mph onto the highway following a dump truck. All of a sudden a car came up behind him at full speed and slammed into the back of him. I thank the Lord that the rear end collision didn't push him into the heavy dump truck in front of him.
This happened in Las Vegas where Steve was for business. He managed to tape, bandage and tie up the car and drove home to Sacramento ... over 600 miles.
He made it home and has been involved with insurance companies since then. I can't imagine how stressful and tense the drive was coming home. Thankful that the car was sort of drivable. I haven't talked with him yet today since I know he is busy with the whole car thing.
This is certainly not something that he needs right now. Financially its a huge blow and makes his independent photography business a lot more difficult.
I am just so thankful that he is okay. It could have been awful.
I'm also thankful that he didn't have to contend with the dense fog in the valley.

Oh my goodness, a miracle he was totally unhurt. Keep me posted as you find out any more. He must also be quite a mechanic if he was able to patch the car up to drive so far!
Oh my goodness. I am thankful he is okay as well. I wonder if the car behind was another texter. Seems they get into the most crashes these days. Soooo glad he made it back home and I'm sorry to hear that this gets in the way of his business. Thankful he's safe and sound.

I'm so glad Steve wasn't hurt. His car looks a mess and I can't believe he was able to drive it like that. Will be praying he gets that situation handled quickly.
with the impact of that kind, he may be feeling it tomorrow. I had that happen in Savannah, and it was only a small dent and the 2nd and 3rd day I had whip lash, I hope he went to a doctor to get checked out, am thinking he did not.... prayers for him and his business and an insurance payout that will get him a car and no harm to him physiclally
Oh wow! I can't imagine what that other driver was thinking (or not....). Sorta makes one wish Steve's car hadn't been in between it and the dump truck. I'm so glad he wasn't injured; the rest will sort itself out. Special prayers for his peace of mind!
That is some rear-ender! I'm thinking the car is totalled. It doesn't take much these days to undermine the frame. We've had that happen twice to us. And my step-daughter as well. Insurance companies would rather cut a check for a total loss than to pay above that for repairs because it will never be the same. Plus now, car buyers have a right to know about such accidents. There's a loss either way. The MAIN thing is he suffered no physical damage to himself. That's amazing he drove home from Vegas that way. My husband was at a stop light and was hit behind by a teenager texting at 40 mph. My husband suffered back injuries he still deals with to this day, plus totalled the car we had just paid off the month prior.
You hate to see this when it's our kids - but I'm sure Steve will get it all figured out.
I'm so sorry your son was in a car accident. I hope he is Ok and that everyone involved in it are Ok as well. It looks like a lot of damage to the car, but thankfully he wasn't hurt. I used to go to a little antique shop in Loomis. Is that the one you are talking about? I used to go there for the day and visit the most charming little pastry shop. That fog is pretty, but really scary to drive in. Have a good rest of the week. : )

OH my goodness! That was quite the rear end collision! I am amazed that he wasn't hurt, and that he was able to drive the car home! I bet he's sore today. I know he and all of you are very thankful it wasn't worse, but still it had to be very traumatic, especially when you are far from home. We've been there and done that. Those rear end collisions are always tricky for the neck and back. Praying for him. Praising God for his protection. And that Cow drink stuff was really interesting! You do have an eye for the unusual stuff! (((HUGS)))
Thank goodness Steve was okay. I am so sorry about the car. That a big deal no one wants to have happen.

From the look of the damage it seems impossible to drive this car! Thankfully your son is unharmed.
So sorry to hear about Steve's accident. I've seen similar incidents on the highway where people were just going way too fast. At least none of them slammed into anyone. Glad Steve was ok and able to drive the rest of the way home. Hope he gets it all cleared up and has no issues with insurance
Oh my, I'm so sorry he had that accident. I'm glad he is okay. The car looks pretty bad but I'm thankful he was able to drive it home. Home insurance takes care of all of that.

Dang, that was a bad accident!! So glad Steve is OK! Rear enders happen all too frequently. Now you know why we've quit riding. There's too many distracted drivers these days. Anyone who rear ends like that should lose their license. No excuse. 💙
